Wong Fu Fu is launching a limited-time pop-up menu in collaboration with Crayon Shinchan, available from 19 June 2025 onwards!
As part of the collaboration, they are also introducing Singapore’s largest 5 litre Mega Matcha Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte.
Wong Fu Fu x Crayon Shinchan Menu
This menu features a range of dishes inspired by the popular Japanese animated character Shinchan.
Highlights from the mains include Japanese Seafood Curry Rice ($23.90), Japanese Chicken Katsu Burger ($19.90), and Signature Mini Bowls ($20.90).
Diners can also enjoy sides such as Cheese Stick with Mayo Dip ($12.90), Truffle Fries with Truffle Mayo Dip ($14.90), and Sweet Potato Fries with Taiwan Plum Powder ($12.90).
For drinks and desserts, options include the Iced Matcha Strawberry Latte ($10.90) and Banana Pudding ($6.90), alongside the star attraction: Wong Fu Fu’s exclusive 5-litre Mega Matcha Latte ($59.90) and Strawberry Matcha Latte ($69.90), available for a limited time only.
Snacks
All of the snacks are served in a limited-edition Shinchan Chocobi Box, which we found to be a charming and playful touch.
We tried the Tater Tots with Taiwan Mochi Balls ($13.90), the tater tots were crispy, while the mochi balls featured a soft, chewy texture with a sweet potato filling.
Mains
For the mains, we tried the Japanese Seafood Curry Rice ($23.90), which featured Shinchan’s signature cheeky touch: his iconic butt shape recreated using fluffy Japanese rice.
The dish was completed with star-shaped cheddar cheese and golden fried karaage seafood.
We found the curry enjoyable as it was on the sweeter side, making it perfect for children! However, it was slightly salty for our taste.
We also tried the Signature Mini Bowls ($20.90) which come with three tasting portions: scallion braised beef noodles (dry), torched smoked duck served with Taiwan pearl fried rice, and two golden fried mid wings.
We found the rice a little plain, but the crispy chicken wings and the dry scallion braised beef noodles were more satisfying and helped balance the overall dish.
Dessert
Dessert options include the Banana Pudding ($6.90) and the Piak! Piak! Shinchan Butt Japanese Parfait ($12.90).
We tried the parfait and were pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it was.
The dessert features a jiggly custard pudding shaped like Shinchan’s iconic butt, layered with vanilla sponge, crunchy cornflakes, light fresh cream and fresh strawberries.
The cream was light and not overly rich, the pudding had a smooth texture, and the strawberries were notably fresh, adding a nice balance to the dessert!
Drinks
Drinks include Iced Matcha Latte ($9.90), Iced Chocolate ($9.90), and Iced Matcha Strawberry Latte ($10.90).
Each drink is served in a themed Shinchan head-shaped cup, which is pretty cute!
The matcha-based beverages are made using Niko Neko Matcha, which is sourced directly from tea farms in Japan, so you’ll taste the authentic matcha flavour.
Mega 5 Litre Matcha Latte
A standout of the collaboration is the Mega 5-Litre Matcha Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte.
These enormous beverages are the largest matcha lattes available in Singapore, and perfect for sharing in big groups.
It’s made with the same high-quality Niko Neko Matcha from Japan.
As someone who has tried a wide range of matcha beverages, we found this one surprisingly good!
Crayon Shinchan Menu at Bugis
The Wong Fu Fu x Crayon Shinchan menu offers a family-friendly dining experience with themed dishes, and highlights like the Mega 5-Litre Matcha Latte! While not every item stood out taste wise, we really liked the creative presentation and nostalgic charm it brought back.
