If you think about chicken rice, the name Chatterbox comes to mind. This restaurant in Hilton Orchard made its name for its chicken rice (priced at $25) and local fare. Now, they’ve expanded to Weave Mall at Resorts World Sentosa with a new concept: Chatterbox Cafe.
The restaurant officially opens 21 July 2025 but we got a sneak peek!
Stylish Interior
The aesthetics of the space are similar to the first outlet in Orchard, following a calming light green theme.
The addition of plants, light wood and mood lighting makes the space welcoming; designed for conversations and gatherings.
There’s also a corner for merchandise, including a Chatterbox chicken plushie, pins and tote bags.
Chatterbox Cafe Sentosa Menu
The menu is the same except for a few Sentosa-exclusive items. Their signature is the Mandarin Chicken Rice (from $23), served with seasoned rice, soup and the classic trio of housemade dips: dark soy sauce, chilli and ginger.
You can opt for breast or thigh meat. We chose thigh and enjoyed how well the chicken was prepared.
It was tender, juicy, with an enjoyable sweetness highlighted by the sauces. The rice itself was fragranced with ginger, onion and a notable chicken flavour.
Is it worth $23? It’s arguable but the quality is definitely there.
The exclusives include elevated versions of Singaporean classics, like Sweet and Sour Kurobuta Pork ($22) and Stir-fried Beef with Ginger and Onions ($25).
There are also seafood dishes like Stir Fried Prawn with Palm Sauce ($26) and Peranakan Assam Barramundi ($26).
If there’s a must-order, it’s the prawns! These were perfectly deep-fried with a crunchy shell and bouncy meat.
It was coated in a sweet and tangy sauce that made it addictive, cutting through any oiliness.
We also tried some of their classics, including Seafood Hokkien Mee ($24) and Char Kway Teow ($24).
Both dishes were garnished with large prawns and scallops! Between the two, the Hokkien Mee stood out more with its rich seafood flavour and wok hey.
Another dish worth ordering is the Grilled Satay ($15/6 sticks). There’s a choice of beef or chicken (or both), and we were impressed! The meat was smoky, tender and well-marinated.
Other items we had were the Crispy Salted Chicken Wings ($11) and Wok-Fried Sambal Vegetables ($8).
These fell flat for us flavour-wise, with the vegetables having more sweet than savoury and the chicken wings not having a pronounced salted egg flavour.
However, they were technically well-executed. The chicken wings were crunchy and juicy, just wished the sauce was more balanced.
They also have desserts, including Signature Coconut Ice Cream ($13), Chendol ($7) and a special Sentosa-exclusive Sweets Platter ($13) with freshly made kueh.
All three are worth the order, but the Sweets Platter stood out with its selection of kueh. These include Bandung Kuih Sago and Kuih Bingka Ambon, which are lesser seen!
