The restaurant refreshed its entire menu on 17 August 2026.
Amidst a wave of modern Asian restaurants in Singapore, Jiak Kim House in River Valley stands out. Their contemporary menu reimagines uniquely Singaporean flavours into modern dishes that still retain their essence, from housemade curry sauces to otak chawamushi.
What Is Jiak Kim House?
Jiak Kim House is housed in a restored 1920s godown (warehouse) on the Singapore River, reimagined as a modern Asian dining destination under The Brewerkz Group.
Rather than generic Asian fusion, the restaurant builds its menu around Singapore’s ethnic groups like Peranakan, Hakka and Indian influences that are reinterpreted through contemporary methods.
The space previously operated as Zouk nightclub, and the address remains a well-known landmark on Jiak Kim Street for anyone who spent a night out there before it closed.
Elegant Interior

It’s been reinvented into a stylish, modern-heritage space with high ceilings and botanical finishes. The soft lighting and light wooden furniture make it airy and welcoming, alongside the organic fresh flower bouquets that are refreshed daily.
Jiak Kim House Menu (2026)

On 17 August 2026, Jiak Kim House unveiled a fully reimagined menu. Check out the full menu on their website.
Every meal now opens with a complimentary, seasonally rotating bread course.
The current version, Croissant Lapis, reworks the buttery pastry with layers of traditional kueh lapis, served with a spicy, creamy curry mash.
Appetisers & Small Plates

Look forward to appetisers like Asian Tacos ($22) and Paper-Wrapped Quail ($24), a refined take on paper-wrapped chicken, one of the first dishes Chef-Partner Seow Tzi Qin (“Chef TQ”) ever made as a chef.
The peppery, subtly herbal notes were infused into the tender quail, which had a distinct sweetness different from chicken.

A unique fusion is the Seafood Otak Chawanmushi ($24) that’s been infused into the egg custard.
It retained the signature spicy, sweet otak flavour rounded out by the silkiness of the egg and made indulgent with uni, prawns and caviar.
Mains

The Hainan Pork Mille-Feuille ($44) is an interesting reimagining of Hainan curry rice. The layers include pork and vegetables which are coated in crunchy rice puffs.
The pork was tender and paired perfectly with the side of housemade curry gravy, which we wish we could’ve eaten with rice!

Mainstay dishes like Herbal Scallop ‘Pao Fan’ ($42), Kam Heong Sambal Grouper ($40) and Tingkat of Memories ($8) are still on the menu.
Desserts

Their Tangyuan ‘Muah Chee’ Cookie ($22) is a must-order. This crumbly, buttery cookie was served warm, keeping the chewy mochi centre stretchy and chewy.
However, the surprising highlight was the duo of black and and white sesame gelato on the side. Despite their unassuming looks, both flavours had a concentrated, roasted flavour that complemented the buttery cookie.
Cocktail Programme

The Le Rojak ($26) is a take on the iconic Singaporean dish, with kaffir lime leaf and ginger flower. This tasted exactly like rojak, down to the floral aftertaste!
Those who partied at Zouk might remember sour plum shots, which have been reinterpreted in the Asam Boi Sour Plum Shot ($26).
This version is served like a sorbet, prepared tableside with dry ice and fresh apple chunks. These are strong and punchy with the tanginess of sour plum, which pairs well with crunchy fruit.
