What We Tried
The meal began with their glistening Shok Bread ($16) with a Mezze Trio ($13), each with a Japanese twist:
- Ikra: Taramasalata-inspired dip with mentaiko and fresh chives
- Muhammara Miso: Roasted peppers and walnuts with white miso folded in
- Yaki Feta: A babaganoush riff with roasted eggplant, feta and a brûléed top
The bread was fluffy, soft and the perfect vessel for the dips!
The Muhammara Miso was the standout to us, with the miso providing an umami that complemented the sweet, smoky notes of the peppers.
Next came the Maguro Harissa Crispy Rice ($21), a dish inspired by popular Japanese-Peruvian restaurant Nobu.
We liked the textural contrast of the crunchy rice and creamy, spicy tuna, especially with the spiced notes from the harissa. It would, however, have been even better if the tartare was served cold.
The Aka Beet Salad ($22) presented beetroots in a blood orange vinaigrette and citrus cream cheese.
These were well-prepared and didn’t have the usual “dirt” flavour; instead, a refreshing sweetness and light crunch!
We had high hopes for the Mediterranean Ramen ($26), with a Tahini-spiked chicken broth, furikake harissa and char-grilled mussels.
However, we found our bowl lacking in flavour even after mixing in the harissa. It didn’t have the sweetness or nuttiness we expected, though the char-grilled mussels added a unique touch to the dish.
The Short Rib Wagyu ($48) was fork-tender and sat in a savoury gravy with pomegranate molasses. While it was an enjoyable beef dish, the Ebi Freekeh Risotto ($36) took the cake as our favourite hot dish of the night.
It featured Freekeh – an ancient grain – cooked in dashi and a shata green sauce with caramelised onion cream. The sauce was layered, herby and creamy, absorbed into the slightly chewy freekeh.
We also liked the added smokeiness from the grilled tiger prawns, which was the perfect protein to round out the dish.
Their dessert options surprised us as well. The Basque-style Labneh Cheesecake ($18) had a subtle tartness and aged flavour that paired well with the burnt honey glaze, making it lighter than the usual basque cheesecake.
Our recommendation would be the Sticky Goma ($19). The black sesame financier base was nutty and slightly chewy, the perfect carrier for their white chocolate yoghurt cream and olive oil.

The NOOR Izakaya: Where The Evening Continues
Past the main dining room is a separate 10-seat izakaya. This is a smaller, quieter nook for groups who want to keep drinking after the meal without staying in the main room.
The list here is deliberately slim: Japanese sake, Lebanese arak, one white and one red wine, alongside simple bites like olives and Japanese pickles.
It also works as a standalone stop for a pre-dinner drink if you’re not eating a full meal!
