La Pizzaiola is located right across from King Albert Park MRT station, an Italian restaurant specializing in cuisine from Tuscany.
They have relaunched a refreshed menu with new items atop their signature items.
La Pizzaiola Menu
The new additions begin with Focaccia Aglio, Burro e Mozzarella ($16.90), a garlic focaccia flatbread sandwiching mozzarella Fior di latte.
This was one of our favourites, with the savoury garlic flavour pairing well with the creaminess from the mozzarella and crusty bread. We think it could definitely do with more garlic!
The Sardine Fritte ($20.90) were another highlight, featuring a crunchy coating around sardine fillets.
These were not fishy at all! They had a pleasant meatiness and a fatty flavour without being overbearing.
Other additions include the Porchetta Salad ($19.90), with thin slices of pork belly and a honey mustard sauce; and the Tagliolini al Nero di Seppia con Salsa di Granchio ($22.90), a squid ink tagliatelle.
Classic Menu Items
Their regular menu features Tuscan flavours, including the signature La Pizzaiola Speciale ($27.90).
This tomato-based pizza is topped with arugula, slices of roasted beef, parmesan and truffle oil.
It was hearty and had a good crust, paired with the meaty toppings.
The Calzone ($22.90) was also a show-stopper, encasing a mixture of tomato, mushrooms, ham and cheese!
Other items you can try include the Pollo Biologico alla Diavola ($33.90), a herb-roasted chicken with potatoes. They even debone it for a more pleasant eating experience.
If you fancy carbs, the Risotto ai Funghi Porcini e Tartufo ($26.90) is an option, with a flavourful risotto and truffle oil.
The desserts are also note-worthy, with classic selections like the Crème Brûlée ($12.90), Panna Cotta ($10.90) and Tiramisu ($11.90).
Our favourite was the Tiramisu which came with a generous amount of sweet mascarpone cream balanced with bitter coffee.
Italian Restaurant At King Albert Park
La Pizzaiola serves up unpretentious and hearty food with great service, and is worth a visit! If King Albert Park is a little out of the way, La Pizzaiola also has outlets in Braddel and Yio Chu Kang/Lentor.
