There’s a new hip spot in Raffles Place to visit after work! KeonBae is the latest concept by the Kanpai Group, a Korean-Japanese fusion highball bar.
Inspired By A Korean Pocha
The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, boasting a dark-themed lit by neon signs with Korean characters.
The interior is red and blue, reminiscent of the vibrant nightlife scene in Gangnam or Hongdae!
KeonBae Menu
The menu has a mix of sharing snacks and heartier dishes.
Their starters include Ganjang Prawn & Uni Handroll ($22) and Dakgalbi Nachos ($16), plus Popcorn Chicken In A Bag ($15) with flavours like Mala and Bburinkle.
They have their own Keonbae’s Fried Chicken ($13 for 3pc, $24 for 6pc) served with scallion salad and kimchi! The four sauce options are Original, Spicy, Yangnyeom and Garlic Soy.
The chicken is marinated for 24 hours and triple fried for an extra crispy outside but juicy, tender inside.
For something meaty, KeonBae even has meats on the grill including Samgyeop-sal ($28) Iberico pork belly and Galbi ($45). Every order includes sides like banchan and yuzu kosho leeks, plus truffle sukiyaki onsen egg!
The carb options range from an Abalone-juk Risotto ($25) to Seafood Yaki-Jjamppong ($15).
Keonbae specialises in highballs, with over 10 different variations across soju, shochu and whisky. Choose from Green Apple Soju ($6.80) or Plum Honey Shochu ($6.80).
There’s even craft highballs ($12.80) like Jeju Park, with Won soju, tangerine syrup and Kook Soon Dang Makgeolli and Bunja, featuring Bokbunja fruit wine and honey lemon syrup.
They also offer craft cocktails with unique flavour profiles. Some interesting ones include Bloody Gud Time ($15) with kimchi and tomato and You, Me, Breakfast? ($15) with notes of coffee and french toast!
