Skincare treatments are the first things a person might associate with Korea. The plethora of facials and skin boosters is enough to dazzle and overwhelm, each using increasingly advanced technologies. However, Korea has invested in other realms of wellness treatments – including hair, eye and dental care – that are equally impressive!
Here are 3 Korean treatments to consider that go beyond skincare.
Korean Hair Treatments
Scalp care is just as important as skincare. In Korea, hair care is taken seriously. Some salons even offer 10-step programs, including everything from ion therapy to UV scalp treatments. It’s become such a science that certain clinics now specialise in hair care.
One of these places is GLOVI GThera Anti-Aging Center in Gangnam. This clinic focuses on anti-aging and hair loss, and it’s a government-certified stem cell research facility!
They use stem cells in their treatments and even have an in-house research lab to customise programs based on your biology.
Their signature treatment – the G Cell Stem Cell Premium Hair Loss Management Program (90 minutes, from 2,200,000won ) – uses stem cell injections and microneedling to encourage hair growth.
The 8-step routine also includes deep hair treatments and blood circulation therapy to nourish the scalp.
I got to try it myself, and while it sounds intense, it wasn’t scary or painful. My scalp felt a little tender afterwards, but it was incredibly clean. I even spotted new baby hairs!
About three weeks later, I noticed fresh growth along my hairline from just that one session.
It’s definitely a splurge, but if you’re dealing with more serious hair loss and want visible results fast, this program might be worth considering.

Korean Dental Care
Dental care is another wellness trend that’s been growing fast in Korea, offering everything from routine check-ups to fully customised veneers. What really sets Korean dental clinics apart is how advanced their technology is.
When it comes to dental care, MINISH Dental Hospital Gangnam is one of the most well-known names in Korea. It’s been visited by K-pop stars like G-Dragon, SEVENTEEN, and IU for their signature teeth whitening treatments and MINISH Veneers.
These veneers aren’t your standard ones! They’re made with a proprietary material and shaped using cutting-edge printing technology for a natural look.
If veneers aren’t your thing, they also offer the 14-step MINISH Dental Spa (400,000won), which includes a bacteria and breath test, deep scaling, and polishing to get your teeth looking and feeling their best.
Each patient gets a private room fitted with top-tier equipment for a thorough check-up, and the staff are incredibly attentive.
They also offer interpretation services in English, Japanese and even Russian so you’ll feel well taken care of from start to finish.

Eye Checkup
Considering how much time we spend on screens, eye care deserves more attention. In Korea, eye clinics and hospitals don’t just stop at basic check-ups!
They offer advanced treatments for everything from retinal issues to LASIK and LASEK procedures.
I got an eye check-up (80,000 won) at St. Mary’s JIN Eye Center, a well-established clinic in Seoul. The session included 10 different eye tests – yes, 10! – followed by a detailed consultation with the head doctor, Dr. Park Jin Heung.
Each test focused on a different part of the eye, from the cornea to the optic nerve. Honestly, we’ve never seen this level of thoroughness back home.
Beyond eye tests, the clinic also specialises in dry eye treatments and cataract surgery, using top-of-the-line equipment. If you’ve been putting off your eye check-up, consider this your sign to finally book one.
