Hands-On Workshops
Strawberry Picking
Korea is famous for its strawberries and strawberry picking is a must-try activity when you’re here. Visit Ilkyung Farm in Pocheon for a hands-on session of strawberry picking, jam making, strawberry waffles and more!
While strawbery season is usually in May, the farm operates a greenhouse which allows them to be grown all year round. Strawberry-picking is priced at 15,000 won per person for 500grams, with classes like jelly and cake starting at 12,000 won per person.

Tofu Making
The city of Paju is famous for producing Jangdan soybeans, known for their high nutritional value and clean taste. Visit the Jangdan Kong Saimdang Tofu Street, where you can attend a tofu-making class!
Here you get to grind the beans with a traditional stone grinder and form the tofu yourself. There are also classes to make tofu cookies, which are great for kids.

Outdoor Parks
Nolja Forest
Immerse yourselves in the great outdoors at Nolja Forest! This forest-themed playground has both indoor and outdoor segments, with activities like high elements and rock climbing. The must-tries are the outdoor net playground, flying fox, and a slide that goes down a hill. It’s perfect for children and adults alike and makes for a good day trip out the city!
Tickets can be purchased on-site, but prices vary between seasons and the type of activity. The base entry fee is 10,000 won, with tickets varying from 16,000 won to 30,000 won for adults and children.

Hwadam Botanical Garden
Located in Icheon, Hwadam Botanical Garden is a park with 17 sections, boasting an impressive 4,300 types of flora and fauna. A popular time to visit is during autumn, when you can bask in the autumn foliage.
If you’re not keen on walking, the park trails are also connected by a monorail which can bring you on a full loop through the gardens.
Tickets can be purchased on-site starting from 7,000 won for children and 11,000 won for adults. Monorail tickets are priced separately starting from 5,000 won for children and 7,000 won for adults depending on the route you take.
Hwadam Botanical Garden (화담숲)

Gwangmyeong Cave
Have you heard of a cave-themed park? You can experience it at Gwangmyeong Cave in Gwangmyeong City! Previously a coal mine, Gwangmyeong Cave has been refurbished into a multi-sensory park.
You can stroll through the 2-kilometer trail to watch light shows, see an underground aquarium, and even an underground wine cellar! There’s also a grand statue of a dragon from Lord of The Rings, located deeper down in the cave.
Tickets can be purchased on-site starting from 2,000 won for kids to 6,000 won for adults.

Cultural Spots
Korean Folk Village
Experience Joseon-era Korea at the Korean Folk Village in Suwon! Here, you can rent a hanbok and walk through traditional Korean houses, watch different folk dances, and snap pictures. The area also has plenty of interactive activities and handicraft stalls you can get souvenirs from.
The Korean Folk Village is experiential and immersive, offering a different experience from the popular Gyeongbukgong Palace in Seoul.
Tickets can be purchased on-site, starting at 26,000 won for children and 32,000 won for adults.

Samsung Mobility Museum
If you’re a lover of vintage cars and automobiles, the Samsung Mobility Museum in Suwon is a must-visit. The entire space is dedicated to the history of transportation, filled with engaging hands-on segments including flying drones.
The second floor is packed with over 30 models of original and functional vintage car models. These include models from the 1940s, 1960s, and early 2000s; with brands ranging from Mercedes to Lamborgini. You can even get a joy ride on a 1962 Ford Thunderbird Convertible to end your visit!
Entry is free and so are the activities within the museum.
