If you enjoy getting your nails done, you’ve definitely been stuck at the stage of deciding what design to do and how to explain your vision to your nail artist. Well, there’s a new nail salon in Rochor – Good Vibes Only @ Good Nails – that changes this process so you know exactly what you’re doing in your designs!
Step By Step Process
The salon is decorated after a pizza store, with red brick walls and wooden furniture. Instead of the usual salon with rows of seats and nail polishes, this concept takes a unique approach.
The owner, Grace, chose to break down the nail design process into different steps in which customers can have creative control over each element in their design. Just like building a pizza, there is a base and ‘toppings’, which are priced accordingly.
The nail services are also well-priced with classic gel manicures starting at $35 and extensions at $65! The nail art buffet starts at $48 where you are free to choose whichever decorative items you want.
A lot of thought is put into making each step as easy to understand as possible. For example, there’s a placecard explaining which nail shapes fit each hand type and Grace personally walks through the entire process with each customer.
Another notable touch is price transparency. Every step is clearly labeled with a price so you know what you’re paying for. The ‘toppings’ – aka charms, glitters and foils – are priced between $1 to $2 dollars. Additions like top coat range from $5 to $10. There is a dazzling selection to choose from, and Grace advised on which ones would fit the design I had in mind. Here’s my inspo:

This ‘selection’ service is available for all the nail services, including custom press-ons (which was what I opted for). She was patient and meticulous, even taking time to size each one of my nails for the best fit. There is also a selection of ready-to-wear press-ons, which she hand paints herself!
My press-ons were ready after 1 day and I loved the results! It took inspiration from the original while being its own unique design, and this set was $48.
The whole experience was comfortable and unintimidating, which made it more memorable. It was a refreshing change to not be overwhelmed with colours or feel pressured to choose a design.
