Yamamoto’s Hamburg is the first restaurant concept by Shohei Yamamoto, the founder behind Hikiniku To Come, and it has now made its Singapore debut at Lau Pa Sat.
The menu centres on handmade Japanese hamburg steaks with sauces that range from a miso-dashi demi-glace to yuzu ponzu and kimchi broth. There’s also a chicken patty created only for Singapore.
Yamamoto Hamburg is currently in its soft launch phase as of 25 September 2026, with its official opening slated for 5 October 2026.
What Is Yamamoto’s Hamburg?

Yamamoto’s Hamburg was founded in Ebisu, Tokyo in 2005 and is the sister brand of Hikiniku To Come, which opened at VivoCity in May.
The concept is built on the home-cooked meals Yamamoto grew up eating, focused around four elements: meat, vegetables, rice and people.
The food here is meant to be simple, good but nourishing. Everything is made fresh with quality ingredients like the handmade patties with Japanese beef blended with pork, and the complimentary portion of house-made vegetable juice that is included with the order of a set meal.
The Singapore outlet sits in its own air conditioned unit at Lau Pa Sat. It has an open-concept kitchen and a rustic, warehouse-style look that is clean and aesthetic. The space is well lit and comfortable too, which makes it an easy place to sit down for a proper meal in the CBD.

What We Ate
Yamamoto Hamburg ($19.90)

The signature beef hamburg was tender and juicy, with a rich, molten Gorgonzola core and a velvety mushroom cream sauce. Smothered in the savory demi-glace sauce, the beefiness of the hamburg was rich without being overwhelming, making it a truly comforting and hearty meal.
Tamagoyaki Nose Hamburg ($18.90)

The chicken patty was flavorful, especially when paired with the runny fried egg and demi-glace sauce. The patty itself is a good size, and the sides of spaghetti noodles and potato mash make it a complete meal that hits the spot. This was our personal favourite.
if you’re only ordering one dish, make it this.
Anchovy Butter Potatoes ($4.90)

This was an unexpected standout dish. The butter was prominent and savoury but not salty, and the potatoes had a fluffy texture which absorbed the butter perfectly.
Karaage (5 pieces, $4.90)

The karaage hit the mark too, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The included side of ketchup also complemented the chicken nicely.
Is Yamamoto’s Hamburg Worth A Visit?
Yes, it’s definitely worth a try. The Tamagoyaki Nose Hamburg with the chicken patty and the Anchovy Butter Potatoes are the two orders we’d go back for. While a meal here would set you back about $20 to $24, the quality and taste still make it worth a try.
