Lifestyle-café concept stores are on the rise and Miura is one to catch. Helmed by the team behind Paaru, Miura is a Japanese tea and wagashi stand tucked at the back of In Good Company’s latest three-storey flagship store in Joo Chiat.
What Is Miura?

Miura is a tea stand in Joo Chiat that specialises in Japanese teas and handcrafted wagashi, or Japanese sweets.
Their quaint space is located at 316 Joo Chiat Road, where local fashion brand In Good Company has a stylish store showcasing their apparel.
The store is incredibly aesthetically pleasing, with every corner showcasing their quality garments and items from brands like ANOTHERLAND, MAD et LEN and Copenn.
Framed by terracotta tiles and soft-lit lanterns, Miura is inviting and warm. It’s a takeaway concept but there is a small outdoor patio with seating available.
What Should I Order At Miura?

Our recommendations are their Matcha (From $7.50) and Daifuku ($7). Their cold brew teas and other sweets are just as worth trying!
We tried an Iced Matcha Latte ($8) and Oolong Pear Cold Brew with Cheese Cloud ($10).

The matcha is freshly whisked to order, presenting a striking and appetizing green.
Rich, umami-forward with a pleasant bitter end; the latte was easy to drink.
The cold brew tea was refreshing with a subtle pear fragrance, and the cheese cloud added a nice indulgence!
We appreciate how it came unsweetened, so you can appreciate the flavour of the tea.

However, our favourite item was their Signature Fruit Daifuku ($7), featuring a whole fresh Japanese strawberry.
The handmade skin was soft and chewy, a nice contrast to the smooth lotus paste and tart fruit – the perfect accompaniment with tea!

They also have a special Coconut Warabimochi ($6), inspired by the heritage of Joo Chiat.
These reminded us of ondeh ondeh, with a fragrant coconut flavour and sweetness from gula melaka syrup.
We would love to come back and sample other sweets like their Black Sesame Kinako Cheese Slice ($8) and Earl Grey Milk Yokan ($6).
Is Miura Worth It?
Yes, Miura is worth visiting. Its focused menu of quality matcha and dainty Japanese sweets is sure to satisfy any tea lover, and its comfortable ambience makes it a pleasant spot to visit and relax.
