Soup Restaurant celebrates its 32-year anniversary with a new outlet of Little Teahouse in Bugis! With everything from bao to wanton noodles, the casual restaurant also doesn’t have service charge.
Little Teahouse Menu
The menu offers a classic selection of dim sum, including steamed dim sum, porridge, and noodles. Signature items include Siew Mai with Ebiko ($6), Fried Yam Cake ($4), and Scallop Dumpling ($4.40). There’s even a Little Teahouse “Yummy” Platter ($11 for 1, $21.80 for 2) with a bit of everything!
For something more substantial, there’s the Char Siew & Wanton Noodle ($8.50) and Minced Pork and Century Egg Congee ($7.50). For sides, options include Beancurd Skin Roll with Prawn ($6) and Yam Puff ($4).
Signature Selection
The first item we tried from the signature selection was the Samsui Ginger Chicken Bao ($4.60), inspired by Soup Restaurant’s famous Ginger Chicken! This had a juicy filling with a strong ginger fragrance, paired well with the soft buns.
There was also the Assorted Mushroom Truffle Bao ($5.40) cutely shaped like a shiitake. We enjoyed the strong truffle fragrance and meatiness of the mushrooms used.
The Lychee Prawn Ball with Mozzarella Cheese ($6) is a prawn ball with a mozzarella cheese center. We liked the bounce of the prawn, which paired well with the savoury cheese and crisp exterior.
We also tried the Curry Pork Chop Rice ($10.50), which turned out to be one of our favourites! The gravy was rich and spicy, pairing perfectly with the juicy cutlets and rice.
For something sweet, we highly recommend the Little Teahouse Signature Egg Tart ($4.60,2pcs). The custard was sweet, creamy and fragrant; encased by the flaky crust. This can get a bit jelak, but we really like the flavour! Best enjoyed slowly with a cup of warm tea.
Crispy Prawn Chee Cheong Fun
A Cheong Fun dish worth trying is Crispy Prawn Chee Cheong Fun ($6.90). The contrast of the soft rice roll and crispy, savoury prawn paste was addictive and easy to enjoy!
CAFE O New Outlet
In celebration of its 32nd year anniversary, CAFE O has opened two new outlets in Bugis and the freshly renovated Terminal 2!
This concept serves up familiar local dishes with a unique fusion. Items include Malay Ginger Chicken Rice ($9.80) and Nian Gao Prata ($6.80), which turned out to be one of our favourites.
