What To Order At Kimpson’s Table
The Kimpson’s Table signature is the Samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup, $18).
This classic, clear-soup version is made with French poulet chicken, boiled for up to five hours with Korean herbs.
Despite its simple looks, the soup was flavourful and full-bodied with the sweetness of the meat. Each serving comes with a tender half-chicken and glutinous rice, making for a nourishing meal.
A new item is the Dak Kalguksu ($15), featuring chewy, hand-cut noodles in a chicken broth.
There’s a dry version – Dak Bibim Kalguksu ($15) – with a spicy, sour sauce and shredded chicken and vegetables.
While we enjoyed the bouncy noodle texture and refreshing sauce, we felt the dish might be better with thinner noodles.
It was also a generous portion with plenty of chicken! For under $20, this bowl was satisfying and filling!
They also offer Hansang-style meal sets that have a protein, rice and banchan. Choose from meats like Beef Bulgogi ($16), Jeyuk Bokkeum ($15) and Chucheon-style Dak Bulgogi ($15).
A must-order is their Boneless Fried Chicken (from $15). Freshly fried per order, the chicken was perfectly executed with a crunchy exterior and juicy meat.
We recommend getting their Original ($15) and Soy Garlic ($16). If you like BHC Chicken, there’s a new Bburinkle Cheese ($17) with a sweet-savoury cheesy powder.
Other sides include a Cheese Potato Pancake ($14) and Kimchi Pancake ($12), served warm and crisp.
The overall flavour profile was cosy and homey, true to Chef Kim’s motto of bringing familiar Korean home cooking to the masses!
