When we heard the news that Hello Arigato had a new outlet in Tiong Bahru, we couldn’t be more excited!
The estate is famed for the many cafes and restaurants there, making this a perfect addition to the area.
Japandi Cafe Aesthetic
The cafe is in a corner unit, with lots of space and floor to ceiling windows. Their other outlets like Upper Thomson don’t get much natural light so we’re glad to see a new space!
It is decorated with a modern, Japandi aesthetic, complete with paper lanterns and wood furniture.
Hello Arigato Tiong Bahru Menu
The menu remains largely the same as other outlets, with some outlet exclusive items! Check out the full menu here.
For mains, the Hae Bee Hiam Pasta ($20) features a homemade hae bee hiam chilli oil with tiger prawns.
Sandos
There’s the CP Egg Sando ($15) featuring cai po and a housemade hae bee hiam; and the Yuzu Honey Chicken Sando ($16) with a yuzu honey mustard.
We tried the CP Egg Sando and were impressed. The caipo in the omelette was a smart move, adding a nice saltiness and crunch but not too much!
The hae bee hiam also provided a nice spicy kick. We even think it could be spicier.
Hello Arigato also collaborated with Masterchef finalist Bjorn Shen for two limited time items!
The Veg Me Up Sando ($16.50) is fully vegetarian, featuring fried broccoli nanban, roasted shiitake and housemade tartare sauce.
Despite being meat-free, this was incredibly satisfying! The combination of the crunchy vegetables and creamy sauce made for a hearty meal.
There’s also a Strawberries & Cream ($15) dessert with stewed strawberries, plum and green apple.
The tangy fruit, light umeshu cream and crunchy biscoff nut topping was the perfect finish to the meal.
Sides
For sides, there’s the Ume Floss Fries ($8) and Yuzu Kosho Wings ($12).
The fries were addictive! We liked that the base was sweet potato fries, adding a sweetness to the overall dish.
The wings had a pleasant citrus fragrance with a subtle kick from the kosho, plus a crunch from the coating and juicy chicken.
Drinks
Their drink menu is the most diverse. This outlet has an exclusive Orh Nee Cloud menu, featuring drinks topped with a taro cream.
We tried the Matcha Orh Nee Cloud ($6), which was delish!
The taro cream was fragrant but not too sweet, complimenting the slightly bitter matcha.
There’s also the Coco Orh Nee Cloud ($5) with coconut water and the Coffee Orh Nee Cloud ($6.50).
