Tucked away in Bukit Timah, Fat Belly is known for its curated selection of lesser-known beef cuts and meats, all expertly grilled over charcoal. It also offers a constantly changing list of secondary beef cuts sourced from around the world!
Fat Belly Menu
The Fat Belly Menu features a concise selection, ranging from Charcoal Grill items such as Grass-fed Ribeye ($36) and Grain-fed Angus Flat Iron ($28), to enticing starters like Pan-Fried Japanese Scallop ($26) and Raclette Cheese ($18). Additionally, don’t miss out on their intriguing mains, including the Jackfruit “Meatball” Stew ($26) and Decadent Rice Bowl ($52).
Charcoal Grill
For mains, we tried the Full Blood Wagyu MS-8/9 Denver ($65), a cut of chuck of cattle grain-fed for 300 days. The meat had a great marbling and fat-to-meat ratio!
It was grilled over charcoal to a perfect medium-rare, with every bite full of flavourful fattiness and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. We also liked the slight crust and smokiness from the grill!
The American Wagyu Picanha ($55) is a sirloin cut. Despite the lower fat percentage, the meat had a concentrated clean, beefy flavour while staying juicy and tender.
We recommend pairing it with the Mustard Royale ($4) sauce. It had a tangy, zestiness that complemented and enhanced the beef’s natural flavours.
Starter
The Toasted Sourdough ($6) made a great pair with the Raclette Cheese ($18). The sourdough was crispy and chewy, carrying the savoury raclette cheese. We especially liked the bits of crispy bacon as the topping which made everything addictive!
Sides
The Fried Brussels Sprouts ($14) are a must-try! Their house-made garum caramel sauce was full of umami, striking a perfect balance between sweet and savoury. Every sprout was cooked till crunchy on the outside which provided a good texture! We also really liked the fried shallots and sesame seeds on top which gave an extra fragrant bite.
The Pomme Puree ($10) is an elevated version of a classic mashed potato. This was lighter, creamier and very smooth with a rich butter flavour. The drizzle of Arbequina extra virgin olive oil added a flavorful finishing touch to the dish.
Dessert
For a sweet ending, we savoured their Signature Tiramisu ($14). It was topped with a generous amount of marscapone filling and vanilla chantilly cream which complemented the coffee-soaked biscuits. Despite the many elements, it wasn’t too sweet but rather refreshing! Everything was creamy and light with an enjoyable vanilla flavour.

Overall, our experience at Fat Belly left us impressed with its distinctive selection of beef cuts. Their well-executed menu and cosy ambience makes it an excellent choice for date nights or simply enjoying a meal with friends!
