Singapore Biennale 2025
The Singapore Biennale 2025, organised by the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) aims to bring contemporary art into daily Singaporean life.
Guided by the theme ‘pure intentions’, the Biennale invites audiences to rediscover and reimagine Singapore with pure intention through art.
Highlight Exhibitions
Activations will be held across 5 key locations, including the Civic District, Wessex Estate, and more.
Check out artworks presented by over 80 artists from across the globe, with the full list here.
Here are a few exhibitions to check out:
Singapore Art Museum At Tanjong Pagar Distripark

The Singapore Art Museum At Tanjong Pagar houses 8 exhibitions, including artists from India, China, Mexico and more.
The space displays moments of destruction and creation side-by-side, showcasing how progress isn’t a linear line.

The museum entrance displays CAMP’s (India) Metabolic Container, a 20-foot shipping container built from 400 boxes of everyday goods that move from Batam to Singapore.

In the reception foyer, Paul Chan’s (Hong Kong/USA) Khara En Tria (Joyer in 3) is inflated by electric fans and showcases three brightly coloured nylon figures swaying in a rhythm of its own.
Do note that a ticket is required for entry into SAM. Tickets can be purchased here.
Tanglin Halt Road
At Tanglin Halt, art comes to life inside the old public housing blocks.

Adrian Wong’s (USA) With Hate from Hong Kong transforms the shophouse into a vintage Hong Kong movie set, using old, destroyed sets and videos inspired by his grandfather who was a famous film composer.

In another shophouse nearby, Joo Choon Lin’s (Singapore) The laugh laughs at the laugh, The song sings at the song uses everyday materials like paper, plastic, wood and metal. Each of these elements change constantly to show how growth and transformation is part of life.
Orchard Road
There are also several installations in two Orchard Road malls: Lucky Plaza and Far East Shopping Center.

Lucky Plaza presents The Filipino Superwoman X H.O.M.E. Karaoke Living Room by Eisa Jocson (the Philippines), a shop unit transformed into a Filipino living room.
This was created in collaboration with Filipino domestic workers, and invites the public to celebrate resilience, humour, and collectiveness.

At Far East Shopping Centre, explore Entropy Study by Yuri Pattison (Ireland/France), which brings together architectural scale models and a real-time animation of an open sky.
More installations can be found at the National Gallery, Fort Canning Park, 20 Anderson Road (the former Raffles Girls’ School), and more.
Multi-Location Projects & Programmes
Apart from the exhibitions, there are also programmes and multi-location projects available to the public!
There is a hands-on workshop by RRD (Red de Reproducción y Distribución) (Mexico) being held at SAM’s Engine Room.
You can also grab a special kombucha by Momocha by Huang Po-Chih (Taiwan) from vending machines at National Gallery Singapore, Blenheim Court, and 20 Anderson Road (the former Raffles Girls’ School), or explore terrazzo benches by Izat Arif (Malaysia) at the various Biennale sites.
