There’s no lack of quality Japanese restaurants around Singapore and SENS Dining in Holland Village is one of them. The restaurant specializes in providing quality Japanese seafood that’s flown into Singapore 4 times a week, alongside an innovative menu that appeals to all ages.
SENS Dining At Holland Village
Located right outside the Holland Village MRT Exit, SENS Dining has an understated exterior. When you enter, you are greeted with an open sushi bar where you can watch the chefs prepare your food.
The design is minimal with a lot of Japanese touches especially in the cutlery and décor. There’s also plenty of seating on the second floor including a private room and a hidden bar!

Yagura Ketsuga Sushi Box
Their newest and coolest addition is the Yagura Ketsuga Sushi Box ($88), a photo-worthy 3-tiered sashimi tower modeled after an ancient Japanese fortress! It’s only limited to a few sets a day. 
You can consume each tier separately or make your own handrolls with the nori provided. The second tier features fresh negitoro (fatty tuna), Kita Murasaki uni, ikura and avocado atop a bed of sushi rice. The fatty tuna paired perfectly with the creamy avocado, uni and crisp seaweed, showcasing the freshness of their fish.
The base tier is a kind of chirashi don, featuring truffled sashimi. The sashimi had cubes of scallop, hamachi, tuna and more, with the subtle fragrance of truffle from the rice. The introduction of interactive elements made the eating experience quite fun!
Sushi Tacos
SENS Dining also has a new innovative selection of Sushi Tacos! The tacos feature a crunchy prawn cracker base and five toppings of different seafoods. There’s the Ebi with Tokibo ($8) and Salmon Mentai ($12.50) featuring a fried prawn and salmon sashimi respectively.
You can also try Tsubugai ($8), a type of sea whelk, fatty Negitoro ($13.20) tuna or luxurious Hotate Uni ($25.80). We found the cracker base a bit hard to eat, but the seafood toppings were generous and had great flavours.
1-For-1 Sushi Taco Promotion
Just for the month of November, SENS Dining is having a 1-for-1 on the tacos! Choose from the Tsubugai Taco, Negitoro Taco and or the Salmon Mentai Taco, where the free taco will be of the same flavour. This promotion is only available in-store so try it while you can!
Familiar But Elevated Japanese Dishes
On top of these new options, SENS Dining has also upgraded other signature dishes. Sashimi lovers will enjoy their premium Hokkaido Treasure Don ($48.80) packed with fresh uni, ebi, tuna, amberjack and more.
If you prefer cooked foods, opt for the Kurobuta Rosu Katsu ($19.80) or Aburi Sugoi Maki ($18.50) that comes with a savoury century egg sauce.
There’s also the luxurious Wagyu Sukiyaki Set ($39.50) where you get to cook slices of fatty wagyu in their sweet and savoury sukiyaki broth! If you don’t eat beef, you can opt for the Pork sukiyaki instead.
Hidden Japanese Bar
Tucked away on the second floor of SENS Dining is Bar Nikai, where you can sample a selection of Japanese whiskies.
A unique whiskey is the Komagatake Single Malt Japanese Whiskey, described as a Japanese-style whiskey that you can’t find in Japan. This whiskey is made exclusively in Singapore with an extremely limited brew, with a clean but smoky finish. You can also get beers on tap or choose from their selection of cocktails!
