Taiwanese eatery Eat 3 Bowls 呷三碗 has opened a new space in Compass One! This marks their second outlet after Pasir Panjang, and debuts a new refreshed look but the same Taiwanese classics.
Cute, Modern Interior
You might know Eat 3 Bowls for their retro Taiwanese-style decor, but this Sengkang outlet boasts a simple modern interior.
The colours are muted grey, blue and white with a mix of booth seating and open seats. It’s a far cry from their usual rustic design but keeps the same coziness. There are colourful Taiwanese murals on the walls that add a nice pop of colour!
Eat 3 Bowls Sengkang Menu
The menu remains largely the same, with fan favourites like the Eat 3 Bowls Signature Trio Combo ($13.90) and Salted Crispy Chicken ($7.20). You can get dishes a la carte, like the Braised Pork Rice ($6.30) and Oyster & Shredded Chicken Mee Sua ($7.50).
A new addition are the Taiwanese tea time snacks, which are available all day! The selection includes a Pork Patty Egg Sandwich ($7.30), Pork Floss Egg Crepe Roll ($5.50) and a Crispy Fried Chicken & Mushroom Platter ($7.50).
Wash down your food with drinks like Bubble Tea Latte ($4.70) and Lemon Wintermelon Tea ($4.70).
Eat 3 Bowls Signature Trio Combo
The star item is the Eat 3 Bowls Signature Trio Combo ($13.90). It features three mini-servings of quintessential Taiwanese street foods – Braised Pork Rice, Oyster Mee Sua and Shredded Chicken Rice.
It might look small but each bowl is deep and can fill you up! Our favourite was definitely the Braised Pork Rice, with its fattiness and a rich umami from the soy sauce. All three dishes were well-executed and satisfying.
Crispy Fried Chicken & Mushroom Platter
The Crispy Fried Chicken & Mushroom Platter ($7.50) comes with a mix of Salted Crispy Chicken and oyster mushrooms. Each item had a crisp, light exterior and savoury seasoning which made it quite addictive.
Hashbrown Egg Crepe Roll
Part of the new tea time menu, the Hashbrown Egg Crepe Roll ($7.30) is what it sounds like – served with a garlicky dipping sauce. It tasted simple and had a nostalgic feel, with a crunch from the hashbrown. The sauce adds a majority of the flavour so we wish the crepe itself was more seasoned.
Taro Pork Floss Sandwich
A unique item is the Taro Pork Floss Sandwich ($6.80). If you’re a fan of a sweet-savoury contrast, then this dish is up your alley! The taro paste was generous and fragrant, although we think there could be more pork floss for better balance.
Taiwanese Cold Noodles
The Taiwanese Cold Noodles ($5.90) were also memorable, served with a savoury sesame sauce.
The noodles were bouncy and the added vegetables provided a refreshing crunch. This would be extra nice with a bit of spice!
Eat 3 Bowls In Sengkang
With the news of the sudden closure of their Crawford Lane outlet, this new space in Sengkang gives another chance for fans to try to Eat 3 Bowls!
