Popular rooftop cafe Coexist Coffee Co., known for its dual-toned interior over at Hillview has opened a second outlet along Keong Saik Road. The cafe went away from their red & white colour scheme for their Keong Saik outlet and adopted a shade of deep blue instead.
Coffee During The Day, Cocktails At Night
Unlike their first outlet, Coexist Coffee Keong Saik will have longer operating hours and will be serving two main menus – one during the day, and one during the night.
During the day, you can choose from items like Toasts, Croissants and Grain Bowls. At night, dig into items like coffee-based cocktails, savoury treats, and small bites.
You’ll also notice a difference in interior styles, with striking blue walls and wooden installations for the tables, which reminded us of the ceiling at Perception Coffee in Seoul.
Toasts
For their day menu, Coexist Coffee Co. Keong Saik has toasts like Maple Pumpkin, Artichoke & Spinach and Steak. We tried the Hummus ($10), which had a layer of hummus, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes and dukkah.
We especially loved how refreshing the sun-dried tomatoes were, which went well with the hummus and pesto.
Grain Bowls
For those working nearby, you can grab their grain bowls for lunch! For $13, you get to choose 1 base, 1 protein, 2 greens, 1 topping and 1 sauce. We managed to try the bases that were available – couscous raisin and kimchi fried quinoa and we’re leaning more towards the couscous.
For proteins, choose from the Cajun Spiced Halibut (our pick!), Grilled Flank Steak or Spicy Vegan Kebab. Balance your meal with some greens, such as roasted broccoli with dukkah and roasted roots (carrot, parsnip and beetroot).
Toppings and sauce-wise, we went for the spicy peanut furikake and pesto sauce.
Coffee & Beverages
For their second outlet, Coexist Coffee has come up with an entirely new blend called Triple P. The 3 Ps stand for Panama, Peru and Papua New Guinea which are mostly used for single origins and pour over. The blend results in a well-rounded, less acidic and very flavourful coffee.
If you don’t already know, Coexist roasts and sources for their own beans.
We found the White ($5.5) to have a nice berry fragrance.

A Place Where People Can Drink And Enjoy
At night, Coexist Coffee Keong Saik transforms into a place where people can come and drink some cocktails and grab some light bites.
You can expect a menu that goes well with drinks such as Breaded Mozzarella Balls ($14), Mushroom Quesadillas ($16) and Crispy Baby Octopus ($18).
If you’re the type that needs something to go with your drinks, head over to the counter where you can find an array of small bites, ranging from $8 to $15 for 2pcs.
We really loved the La-yu Burrata ($14) which consisted of creamy flavours and a pinch of spiciness from Szechuan peppercorns. The spiciness helps to break through the greasiness, which makes you go back for more.
Another dish we tried was the Baked Bone Marrow ($24) which is topped off with chimichurri. Make sure to grab a generous spoonful and spread it all over the toasted bread – a match made in heaven.
Cocktails
The cocktail menu is split into two, there’s Greenhouse, which are cocktails that explore the different ingredients used in their kitchen. There’s also Roasted, which incorporates coffee in different ways, such as the use of espresso shots, cold brew, and coffee liquor.
From the Greenhouse menu, Pearl is a fizzy, herbaceous cocktail that makes use of thyme, Fino Sherry and Saffron Bitters. On the other hand, Garden is a fresh and earthy mix of Horseradish Vodka, Merlot, Earl Grey Lavender and Grapefruit bitters. We found both to be refreshing and light and paired well with items that were greasier.
We tried Coexist from the Roasted list of Cocktails, which brings together an espresso shot, herb wine and black olive for a strong, herbal blend of flavours.
Desserts
They also have 2 special desserts you can choose from to end your night. The Tofu Semifreddo ($14) is a Half-Frozen Tofu Ice Cream that comes drizzled with lime caramel and lime crumble. We loved how refreshing and light the dessert was, with the citrusy flavours really standing out and going well with the light fragrance of soybeans.
If you want something more interesting, go for the Deconstructed Tiramisu ($16) which is made using Coexist Espresso, Mascarpone and Chocolate with Chilli! While we didn’t taste the chilli immediately, we felt it near our throats after a few bites.
Coexist Coffee Co. @ Keong Saik
Going away from the dual-toned interior and cafe image over at Hillview, Coexist Coffee’s 2nd outlet at Keong Saik offers a totally different style of food and drinks to cater to the neighbourhood’s energy.
While offering new items like cocktails, we can still see how Coexist continues to make coffee a huge part of their brand.
They will be having their soft launch from 1 Nov to 5 Nov, and their official opening will be on 6 Nov. During the soft launch, they will only be open till 6pm.
There will also be a 10% promotion from 6 to 13 Nov, to celebrate their new outlet.
