We all know Tiong Bahru/Havelock is a cafehopping haven, but we’re here to add another name to the list! Cloudfields is a cosy, aesthetic cafe in Tan Boon Liat building with a menu of brunch, mains and coffee.
Architectural-Inspired Design

The cafe spans the entire top floor of the Tan Boon Liat building, offering plenty of outdoor and indoor seating.

The interior boasts a stylish, cosy all-wood design with a striking metal ceiling centrepiece.
It’s aesthetically pleasing and cosy, perfect for those cafe-hopping trips, whether you’re alone or solo.
Cloudfields Menu

The menu selection is lean but offers all-day brunch, sides and mains.
Sharing plates include Beef Tartare ($22) with yuzu and Ritz crackers and the special Italian Wedding Soup ($12) with pork meatballs and chicken broth.
The brunch menu spans classics like the Cloudfields Big Breakfast ($28) to Corn Fritters ($26) topped with hamachi salsa and a crispy taco.
Choose from hearty mains like Barramundi ($34) served with a dashi beurre blanc and Thai Yellow Curry Crab Pasta ($28).
Their drink menu is also extensive, ranging from coffee, matcha and housemade drinks.
The options include the Sky Meadows ($9) that features Uji matcha and yuzu cheese and Morning Whisper ($8) that combines zhejiang green tea, osmanthus and guava.
What We Tried

For starters, we got the popular Cacio e Pepe Fries ($18). These earn their popularity!
The crispy, fluffy fries were addictive, especially with the salty and peppery parmesan cheese foam, cut through with sweet honey.

The Burrata ($18) was pleasant, paired with the slight crunch of the citrus-poached pear.

If there’s a must-order, it’s the Rendang Bolognese Pasta ($29).
The star is the rempah, which we understand is sourced and made by a homemaker.

It was fragrant, punchy and richly spiced, coating the al-dente pasta with a meaty sauce.
We liked how it wasn’t a watered-down version of the original and kept the same flavours!

The Pork & Potatoes Benny ($28) was served in an unorthodox presentation, almost fine-dining inspired.
We liked how tender the pork belly chunks were, especially with the tangy Granny Smith apple sauce.
The potato pave added a nice crunch, though we felt they were a bit starchy and made it a bit cloying.
Like the classic version, it’s best enjoyed with everything combined!

For drinks, we got the Torchbrew ($9) and Kumo ($8).
The latter is similar to a matcha espresso with a creme brulee top, which we felt didn’t add much. However, it was a solid matcha espresso!
We liked the Kumo, with it being sweetened just right to bring out the flavours of the sencha and matcha cloud.

A sweet treat was the Cloud Yogurt ($12), topped with lemon-infused olive oil and concentrated berry compote.
The combination of tangy, creamy yoghurt, sweet berries and umami of the olive oil made this a nice end to the meal!
