Singapore has seen a surge of Korean-inspired Self Photo studios in recent months, where you can take photos without a photographer, resulting in more natural and less awkward photos. Riding on the Squid Game trend, Photomatic at Funan is now offering jackets from the popular Korean drama as props.
Self-Photo Studio in Funan
Photomatic is one of the 4 studios from SelfPhotoStudio.sg, which has other studios located in Bugis and Orchard.
All you need to do is book a slot before heading down, choose from a black & white or colour concept, and choose your background color!
For the basic package ($30) you will get 15 minutes of photoshoot time where you can take as many photos as you want. After the 15 mins, you will have 15 mins to choose 2 photos to be printed, and digital copies to be sent to your email.
The printing of the photos will take around 20 to 30 minutes, during which you can explore the rest of Funan mall.
Make sure to arrive earlier so you can take some time to choose some props for your photoshoot. They’ve recently added the squid game jackets, so you can recreate some of your favourite scenes in the Korean drama.
After you’re done choosing your props, all you need to do is head into the room and simply use a wireless remote to shoot!
One thing to keep a lookout for at Photomatic Funan is the super Instagram-worthy corridor leading to the various photoshoot studios. You can grab some great shots here as well.
Other Packages Available
They also have a Premium Package ($70) where you will get 6 printed photos, all the digital copies of the photos you took during your photo shoot, and a wall frame with your photo.
Alternatively, you can opt for the add-ons, where you can get an additional 4”x 6” Photo Print (Single) for $5 or even a timelapse video of your photo session for $20.
Great Activity For Couples, Friends, or Family
If your significant other, friends, or family members are not that used to being in front of a photographer, maybe this self-photo studio would be a great way to get some photos with them.
