GastroBeats makes its return this year! The food festival is themed ‘The People’s Festival’, highlighting local food establishments and artists. Its happening 29 May to 22 June 2025 at the Bayfront Event Space.
GastroBeats 2025 Layout
This year brings 42 food stalls, with 5 dedicated booths by brands like Coca Cola, Carlsberg and Blanc 1664. You can check out the full event guide here!
There is plenty of outdoor seating space accompanied by a GastroBeats stage with live musical acts.
Something fun to catch this year is the Solace Studios booth that’s themed after a diner!
GastroBeats 2025 is also bringing a new mascot: Jelilo! It’s designed by Singaporean creative Lester Lim, featuring a cute jellyfish-like design. You can snap pictures with the inflatables and figurines placed all around the festival grounds.
GastroBeats Food
The stalls range from familiar local dishes to modern takes on traditional classics.
Some interesting concepts are SG Umami Bomb (@sgumamibomb) serving freshly Fried Hokkien Mee ($16) and Aunty Siam (@auntysiam) dishing up handmade Hakka food like Abacus Seeds ($15) and Hakka Yong Tau Foo ($12).
We were excited about the Hokkien mee but felt it fell flat flavour-wise, despite having a generous amount of ingredients. The team at Aunty Siam handmakes all their items down to the punchy chilli sauce and we can taste the love!
Even The Meatmen (@themeatmenchannel) has a booth, offering freshly made Sio Bak (roasted pork belly) and Mie Rendang Rice Paper Rolls!
There are oysters from Slurp Your Oysters (@slurpyouroysters), Korean street food at Mukshidonna (@mukshindonna) and even curry puffs from What The Puff (@whatthepuff).
We tried Pizzas ($13) from La Levain (@lalevain) in flavours like Tom Yum and Laksa. These were interesting flavours but could do with more sauce!
Other food festival grub include No Time No Hotpot (@notimehotpot) with their portable hotpot tubs and Kwasy Korndog (@kwasykorndog) serving Korean-style Korean dogs (from $8).
The sweet/dessert selection felt limited, but we were able to snag Warabimochi Kamakura (@warabimochikamakura).
They have two new GastroBeats exclusives: Black Sesame Warabimochi ($19.90/10 pcs) and Kinako Strawberry Royale (from $13.90).
We also tried a Pistachio Kunafa Croffle ($13/3 pcs) from SOHTT (@sohttsg). This had a surprise mochi center and sweet pistachio topping but was otherwise unmemorable.
We felt there was fewer halal and dessert options this year, which we hope can be improved upon!
Food Festival In Singapore
GastroBeats 2025 is pretty comprehensive this year albeit on a smaller scale, and we appreciated the many local foods featured in the lineup! If you’re a fan of outdoor festivals, GastroBeats is still worth a visit.
