After a whole year of opening multiple outlets, Tiong Bahru Bakery ended 2022 with a new location over at Crane Road.
Using the space of a previous coffee shop, the new Tiong Bahru Bakery at Crane Road fits so well in the neighbourhood, almost like it was there from the beginning. The space can fit up to 58 pax, and you can choose from well-ventilated alfresco seats or air-conditioned indoor seats over at the quaint joint.
The Crane Road outlet also features artsy embroidery detailing on its doors and windows, inspired by a trip to the culture-rich city of Budapest. With the large glass fixtures, the cafe attracts lots of natural light, which adds to the warm homey vibe.
Apart from the usual artisanal French bakes such as croissants and kouign amann, Tiong Bahru Bakery Crane Road also offers hot menu items such as their beloved Croffles, both in sweet and savoury form.
We tried the Breakfast Croffle ($22) which features the signature TBB croissant dough cooked in a waffle maker. This way, one gets the usual layers of a croissant along with the chewiness of a waffle. Topped with a gorgeous sunny side up, bacon slices and portobello mushroom, this was a savoury treat for the soul. The best part was the herb ranch sauce that tied everything together with its tangy flavour.
For something hearty, go for the Cluckin’ Amazin’ Burger ($22) which features a huge slab of deep-fried chicken, with gochujang aioli tossed crunchy purple cabbage, red onion and cucumber pickles. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was balanced out by the red onion and cucumber pickles.
Other hot menu items include the Pull My Pork Croffle ($12), Soldier Stack ($12), Easy Cheesy ($22) and Dessert Croffle ($14).
Tiong Bahru Bakery Crane Road is open daily from 7.30am to 8pm at 7 Crane Road, Singapore 429356.
