Craving for authentic Korean street food? Pocha Korean Street Dining has opened a new outlet in Clarke Quay, with Korean street food offerings and unique handcrafted cocktails made from viral Korean pouch drinks!
Pocha Clarke Quay Menu
You can try a range of classic Pocha-style dishes, with some of the top 8 recommendations starting from below $10. The selection includes Samgak Kimbap ($8.90), Creamy Shin Ramyeon ($13.90) and Busan-Style Gukbap ($20.90), which is simmered for 12 hours.
For side dishes, there are Hotteok in two flavors, Honey Peanut ($5.90) and Japchae ($7.90) respectively.
There are also a range of unique Clarke Quay-exclusive offerings of Korean-inspired cocktails! They infuse familiar Korean flavours and some include the famous convenience store drink pouches. Choose from items like Strawberry Ginger ($15), banchan-inspired Seaweed Gin Tonic ($8) and Hazelnut Coffee Shake ($15).
K-Griddle Set
We tried another Clarke Quay-exclusive which is the K-Griddle Set ($45), featuring either Pork Collar or Beef Oyster Blade accompanied by a side of grilled kimchi. You also have the option to choose between sundubu or kimchi jjigae stew, Shin Ramyeon and 1 for 1 Terra Beer.
The meat is first torched before the stew is added with the noodles.
We chose the pork collar with kimchi jjigae stew. The meat was well-marinated and flavorful, and the kimchi jjigae stew added a nice spicy, sour kick to complement it. It’s good for gatherings so we recommend trying this!
Exclusive Dinner Sets
If you’re coming with friends, you can get one of their Dinner sets for 2 to 3 pax. We tried the Bulgogi Rhythm Set ($45) that came with 3 mains and 1-for-1 cocktails or Terra!
Bokkeumbap Fried Rice
The Bokkeumbap Seafood Fried Rice ($11.90) was coated with their in-house Hangari soy sauce. It was sweet and smokey from being wok-fried and the rice had a good bite which made it quite addictive! It’s also available in chicken, pork, beef, and non meat options.
Bulgogi Pork
The Bulgogi Pork ($11.90) is tender and properly coated in the marinade. The sauce had just the right balance of spicy, sour and savoury; complemented by the crunch and sweetness of the onions.
Tteokbokki with Fish Cakes
The Tteokbokki with Fish Cakes ($11.90) was cooked just right for a good chew. The flavor of the sauce leaned towards the sweeter side, which might be a huge hit for those who can’t take spice! We think the dish could have benefited from a longer cooking duration to really allow the rice cakes to soak in all that saucy goodness!
K-signature Cocktails
The cocktail selection was quite interesting!
We tried the Dalgona Cocktail ($15), topped with the famous fluffy Dalgona topping. It was sweet, creamy and reminiscent of a boozy chocolate milk. The Melona Mint ($15) was almost refreshing, with the familiar Melona taste and cool Mint flavour.
Additionally, we enjoyed the Blue Lemonade and Green Grape Mojito (each $15) inspired by the popular pouch drinks, both offering familiar but interesting takes.
