Peaches are a summer favourite in Korea, they taste the best during summer – crisp, fresh, and sweet. There’s a recent trend in Korea involving the summer fruit, and the best thing is, you can also try this out right here in Singapore.
Peach Earl Grey Marinade
The newest way to enjoy peaches is by adding earl grey tea leaves.
That’s right, tea leaves.
This method of eating has been around for some time, but since it was peak summer not long ago in Korea, it has resurfaced again.
Here’s how they look (with some mindful plating)
Here’s how to prepare this beautiful fruit dessert:
- Slice up your peaches
- Sprinkle some sugar or honey over the sliced peaches, mix and leave them to “marinate” for a while.
- Next, sprinkle some earl grey tea leaves on the peaches and “marinate” for 30 minutes in the fridge.
- Enjoy with some mascarpone cheese or ricotta cheese. You can also pair this with some Greek or plain yoghurt.
The result is a nice sweet peach dessert with a nice earl grey aroma. According to online reviews, the creaminess of the cheese pairs well with the earl grey tea flavour.
We’d imagine this would go great as a cake or pancake topping as well. If you do try it, do tag us and let us know how it tastes!
