If you’re someone who likes exploring different cuisine options in Singapore, this one’s for you. Leila is a new restaurant located within the same premises as the Claude Hotel.
The restaurant is only open for dinner, offering a variety of Middle Eastern sharing plates and drinks, perfect for date night dinners or casual gatherings with friends.

The space isn’t the largest, but it still provides an intimate setting thanks to the warm terracotta tones and ambient lighting.
What I was most impressed by was how the entire restaurant operates out of a small kitchen, visible to diners, like an open kitchen concept. They bake the bread, grill protein and do everything in that small space.
The menu is concise, and everything is best shared, so we highly recommend bringing a friend or two.

Some must-orders include the Kubana Bread ($15) that’s baked from scratch in-house. The Yemeni brioche is served together with tahini and tomato paste and is wonderfully light and fluffy on the inside. Make sure to save some bread for the rest of your meal, as it’s perfect for wiping off any sauces from your plates.
One of the highlights was the Balkan Anchovy Bruschetta ($21), which features a perfectly toasted homemade challah bread topped with roasted eggplant cream, chopped Kalamata olives, pickled onions, salt-cured anchovies and finished with Greek olive oil.
This combination isn’t one I consume often, but I was pleasantly surprised at how everything worked and paired so well together, causing a few explosions of flavours in my mouth!
The Green Chilli Shrimp ($26) is one of those dishes you can use the Kubana Bread to wipe off the sauce. It features juicy pieces of grilled prawns served on top of a green chilli sauce with tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh herb.

If not, dig into Manseef ($35), which is a Balkan speciality. It’s minced chicken sautéed with onions served on top of a bed of hummus, tahini and a dollop of harissa.

Some other options you can consider at Leila include Beef Kebab Skewers ($25), Seafood Plate ($29) and the Tripoli Freekeh Fish ($35) which pairs market-fresh fish cooked in a spice tomato sauce, and freekeh, a type of Middle Eastern grain that slightly resembles barley.
You can also try the iconic Knafe ($21), which features crispy kataifi pastry, pistachios and ice cream. The twist here is mozzarella stuffed within the crispy pastry, which adds an interesting dimension to the dessert, both texture and flavour-wise.

Leila is also equipped with a cocktail bar with drinks drawing inspiration from the Balkans and Middle East, alongside a curated wine selection spanning the Mediterranean and beyond.
They’ll also be introducing a series of rotating curated experiences for different days of the week, such as Ladies’ Night on Wednesdays. If you’re looking for a fuss-free spot to unwind after work, Leila is a spot for your consideration.
