Dian Xiao Er Menu
Dian Xiao Er Prestige offers quite a few outlet-exclusive dishes such as Golden Morel Mushroom Kampong Chicken Soup ($12.90/bowl), Stir-Fried Prawns with Wild Mountain Garlic ($24.60/S, $48.90/L), and House Special Fragrant Celery Sauce Steamed Fish ($25.90/half).
They also serve their signature dishes, including Duck Roasted with Angelica Herb ($37/Half, $74/Whole), Sliced Garoupa in Assam Style ($25.60/S, $50.90/L), Crispy Lotus Roots & Pumpkin in Salted Egg Sauce ($18.30/S, $36.60/L), and Fish Maw Thick Soup with Crab Meat & Conpoy ($21.30/S, $42.60/L).
Mongolian Pork Ribs
The Mongolian Pork Ribs ($16.60/S, $32.90/L) were coated in a slightly spicy sauce that added a nice kick without being overwhelming.
The ribs were crispy on the outside, while the meat inside remained juicy and tender.
Tropical Seafood Crunchies
The Tropical Seafood Crunchies ($10.90/6 pcs) were well-coated with their house blend sauce, offering a balanced sweet and savoury taste from the seafood.
We liked the crunchy kueh pie tee cup, the refreshing addition of dragon fruit, and the extra pop from the tobiko.
Double-boiled Sea Coconut Kampong Chicken with Conpoy
The Double-Boiled Sea Coconut Kampong Chicken with Conpoy ($12.90) was our favourite! The soup was packed with ingredients their tender chicken and red dates. It had a rich, comforting taste that felt really nourishing.
Abalone in Zesty Garlic Dressing
The Abalone in Zesty Garlic Dressing ($29.90/6 pcs) reminded us of a Thai glass noodle salad with its refreshing tanginess and slight spice.
The zesty garlic dressing added a punch of flavour, enhancing the natural sweetness of the abalone. Each piece had a firm yet tender bite, offering a satisfying chew.
We liked the contrast of textures and flavours in one bite.
Stir-fried Egg White with Seafood
The Stir-fried Egg White with Seafood (23.90), featured a mix of prawns, squid, and fish. The dish was light yet flavorful, with the seafood adding natural sweetness and a slight brininess.
We enjoyed the tobiko, which provided a subtle crunch with each bite.
House Special Fragrant Celery Sauce Steamed Fish
The House Special Fragrant Celery Sauce Steamed Fish comes in a few variations, including Sultan King Fish, Soon Hock Fish and even specific cuts like Fish Tail or Fish Slices.
We tried the fish slices, which were tender and effortlessly fell apart with each bite. The sauce was aromatic and complemented the fish well, though the celery flavour was quite subtle.
Crab Roe Bee Hoon
Despite its name, the Crab Roe Bee Hoon ($19.90) had a lighter flavour profile compared to the dishes.
While the noodles were well-soaked in the broth, the crab roe flavour was not as pronounced as expected.
We felt that adding more ingredients, such as seafood or vegetables, would have enhanced the dish, giving it a variety in texture and flavour.
Golden Prawn Broth with Crispy Rice
The Golden Prawn Broth with Crispy Rice ($38.90) had a rich, full-bodied flavour with a deep seafood umami.
It came with four large prawns that were tender, though not particularly firm or bouncy. The dish was accompanied by a side of crispy rice, which soaked up the flavorful broth.
Duck Roasted with Angelica Herb
The Duck Roasted with Angelica Herb ($37/Half, $74/Whole) is one of their signature dishes, featuring a rich herbal taste from the Angelica herb that infuses the duck.
The duck is meaty and tender, with a sweet glaze on the skin that adds an extra layer of flavour, creating a perfect balance between savoury and sweet.
