Cafes are aplenty in the East, such as Little Rogue Coffee and Bloom Coffee to name a few. With several outlets in Singapore, Common Man Coffee Roasters has a relatively new outlet over at Joo Chiat and might be one of the best cafes in the East for brunch.
Common Man Coffee Roasters in Joo Chiat
The entire cafe space felt very open, perhaps due to the open windows. Despite that, the cafe was well ventilated and wasn’t too warm. The view from the window seats was one that we enjoyed.
If not, pick from the seats outside the cafe or choose from those indoors, which can hold bigger groups of up to 5.
Coffee Man Joo Chiat Menu
The cafe has an all-day breakfast menu with items like Umami Mushroom Avocado Toast ($23), Croissant Croque Monsieur ($18) and Organic Eggs Benedict ($27). They also have a lunch menu that’s available from 10am to 5:30pm, with items like a Crab Salad ($26), Chilli Chicken ($30) and a Cubanos Sandwich ($28).
Some sides to consider sharing among your group would be the Herbed Fries ($10) and Pickled Pennel Salad ($12).
They also have desserts and bakes which you can check out at their counter.
Savoury Stack
While this particular outlet was promoted on various sites for their sourdough pancake, during our visit recently, the menu indicated otherwise. They were the usual buttermilk pancakes instead of sourdough.
Despite that, the Savoury Stack ($24) was still an enjoyable brunch option.
The buttermilk pancakes came with a fried egg, a generous serving of crispy bacon and creamy seasoned butter. We loved how they placed the maple syrup on the side instead of just drizzling it all over.
The pure maple syrup was really sweet and fragrant, and we would say a little bit goes a long way. The seasoned creamy butter had traces of herbs and cracked pepper, which was sinfully delicious.
If you like your bacon crispy, you’ll be glad to know the ones served alongside the pancake were crisp.
White
For coffee, we opted for the Regular White ($6) which was smooth, creamy, and had some hints of berries.
Other beverage options include Nitro Honey Oat Latte ($9.5), Iced Chai Latte ($8.5) and PB & J Smoothie ($10).
You can also get craft beers, cocktails, and wine here.
Cafes In The East Singapore
If you’re ever in the east or stay in the east (lucky you!), Common Man Coffee Roasters is a great place to have brunch. The brand never seems to disappoint with their coffee and food, so it’s a pretty safe choice if you’re afraid of trying new places.
