If you’re wondering where the snaking queue in front of Raffles City starts, it’s from Casa Vostra. The Italian restaurant has drawn hour-long queues since its opening for its Neapolitan pizza and fresh-made pasta.
Imported From Italy
Casa Vostra is helmed by chef Antonio Miscellaneo, behind award-winning pizza restaurant La Bottega Enoteca.
This concept presents the same Italian fare in a casual, comfortable setting. There’s a giant pizza oven at the entrance, shipped specially from Italy and a dedicated curing fridge for their meats.
The seating area is relatively spacious and can accommodate 60 people. It’s cosy and quaint, but a little too dark in some areas. The restaurant does not accept reservations, so dine-in queues can be long.
Casa Vostra Menu
Their star item is the Neapolitan pizza selection, with over 15 topping options. It’s split into Newpolitan Red (tomato sauce) and Newpolitan White (cheese sauce).

Neapolitan Pizza
There’s the classic Margherita ($16), Diavola ($20) with house-cured spicy salame and the Tartufo e Funghi ($28) with fresh black truffle atop their cheesy white sauce.
Something special is the DoubleCrunch, a pizza-sandwich hybrid with a layer of dough baked over its fillings. Options include Caprese ($16) and Mortadella ($22) with ham, burrata and pistachio.
We tried the Prosciutto e Figura ($26), a new addition to the menu. This pizza was topped with white sauce, fig puree, Parma ham and Fiordilatte, a mild mozzarella cheese from Campania, Italy.
The dough was expertly done. It was puffy, chewy but crisp with a rich sourdough-like flavour from the 36-hour ferment. You can practically eat the crust on its own!
We liked the salty-sweet combo of the fig and Parma, but a spicy or meaty topping might stand out more. The centre of the dough was soggier from the hefty toppings but it wasn’t an issue for us. We understand some people might be particular about this!
Pasta
Their pasta selection is equally extensive, with 14 dishes! Options include Pesto Trofie ($17), Carbonara Rigatoni ($19) and Crab Tagliatelle ($26). Their pasta is made fresh with a pasta machine from Italy!
The expanded menu includes pastas like Gricia Spaghetti ($18) using guanciale and Pecorino Romano, and Sausage Parpadelle ($20) with a rich meat ragu.
We tried Mamma’s Aglio Olio ($15), a nod to Chef Antonio’s mother, who prepared the dish with her special touch: sundried tomatoes.
Despite being ‘untraditional’, the tomatoes elevated the dish entirely. The concentrated umami enriched the garlic oil but also cut through it with a slight tang, making it addictive!
The pasta had a good bite and carried the garlicky sauce well. You must mop up the oil on the plate with bread or pizza crust.
Antipasti
For starters, get the Calamari Fritti ($12) with garlic mayo or the Porchetta ($18) featuring slow-roasted pork.
Other signatures include the Peposo ($22), a braised beef cheek and classic Burrata Tomato e Pesto ($25) with roasted tomatoes and basil pesto.
The new dishes start with the Baked Scamorza ($6) with mashed potato and honey.
The sweetness from the honey balanced the salty, milky cheese, making for a good appetiser! It was nice alone, but felt more fitting with bread.
Unfortunately, we found the Flan di Zucca ($12) underwhelming. The flan had no pumpkin taste and an unexpected soft, omelette-like texture.
It did act as a good carrier for the creamy cheese sauce and crispy pancetta, but we anticipated more from the dish.

Italian Restaurant In City Hall
To be candid, we’ve heard varying reviews about Casa Vostra. Our experience was positive, and we enjoyed the flavours of the pizza and pasta (although some items were a miss for us). Based on what we had, we’d recommend trying Casa Vostra at least once!
