Caracara, the neo-Japanese dining concept at Tanjong Pagar, is celebrating its first anniversary this July with a 6-course “Carakase” Prix Fixe Menu at $138++ for 2 pax.
Bright, Sleek Interior
Housed in a heritage shophouse, the interior features mid-century modern design elements and wooden furniture, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The owner is also an avid collector of Goros jewelry, with some pieces also on display and for sale.
Caracara Menu
In the day, Caracara offers a lunch menu, featuring signatures like the Wagyu Sando ($58), Pork Sando ($26), and Miso Gindara Donburi ($28).
You can check out the full menus here!
They also have specialty summer drinks such as Raspberry Lavender Espresso Tonic ($16) and Hojicha Peanut Butter Cloud ($13).
At night, they offer a la carte dishes like Uni Tofu ($38), Wagyu Sirloin ($48) and Chicken & Foie Gras Donabe ($48).
Something special is their 6-course “Carakase” menu at $138++/2 pax, featuring fine touches to Singaporean flavours. We got to try this course!
Carakase Dinner Menu
Seasonal Tartlet
We started off the course with the Seasonal Tartlet – raw tuna dressed in a tangy sauce, delicately topped with edible flowers and served in a crisp, golden shell.
Kopi Roti
Next was the Kopi Roti course, featuring warm sourdough paired with silky, house-churned coffee butter – made from Milkadoodle beans and AOP French butter.
A sweet, nutty, and slightly bitter twist on your classic kopi. Super unique!
Hiyashi Somen with Snow Crab
The Hiyashi Somen with Snow Crab was light yet flavourful – served chilled in a refreshing tomato dashi that added a bright, tangy lift.
Topped with sweet, delicate Zuwai snow crab, it was a perfectly balanced dish.
Mains
For the main course, we opted for the Satay Hokkaido Pork Collar . It was grilled over a charcoal fire, presenting a nice smokey flavour.
On the side was rich, nutty satay sauce, complemented by crisp cucumber-onion ribbons that added freshness and crunch.

Alternatively, you can also opt for the Fish of the Day, we were served Amadai (sweet Japanese sea bream) with crisped skin.
It was delicate and fresh, uniquely paired with a familiar local touch: a chilli sauce reminiscent of Hainanese chicken rice.
Donabe

For the donabe course, diners can choose between two standout options: the A5 Wagyu with White Corn (+$40/2 pax) offers rich, melt-in-your-mouth umami from premium wagyu, balanced by sweet bursts of fresh white corn.
Alternatively, the Kinki Fish with Burdock Roots presents tender kinki fish with the grounding notes of burdock.
Dessert
To end off, we had the Mango Sago Espuma – a refreshing take on our classic mango sago dessert, but presented here as a mango sorbet topped with pomelo granita, and a cloud-like mango sago espuma.
It was light, bright, and perfect end to our course.
Add Ons
As an add-on for +$38/pax, you can get the Pan-Seared Japanese Abalone in red wine reduction with seasonal vegetables.
