Cafe Usagi TOKYO Menu
For their drinks selection, we tried the Iced Gokuiyo Hojicha Latte ($7.80) and the Iced Strawberry Latte ($7.80). The Iced Gokuiyo Hojicha Latte had a strong tea flavour that tea lovers would appreciate; it’s also available in a hot version. As for the Iced Strawberry Latte, we recommend it for those with a sweeter tooth. While it’s a simple drink, the addition of strawberry jam enhances its sweetness, making it a delightful choice.
Among all the selections available, there are several interesting flavours that we didn’t get to try, such as their Coconut Miso Ice Cream ($6).
Signature Mochi Ice Cream X Flavoured Mochi Waffles
For their Signature Mochi Ice Cream ($7 – $7.50), we tried the matcha ice cream wrapped in their signature mochi skin. The matcha ice cream was well-balanced in terms of its flavour, striking a perfect balance between bitter and sweet. However, the mochi skin truly stole the show. It was thin, chewy, and stretchy, adding a wonderful texture to each bite!
For the Flavoured Mochi Waffles ($9.90), there are four flavours to choose from: Coconut, Chocolate, Coffee, and Matcha and we opted for the chocolate Mochi waffles. The mochi in the centre had a soft and stretchy texture, while the waffle was crispy on the outside. The play of textures here was commendable, especially when paired with the Mochi Ice Cream. We did hope for a stronger chocolate flavour, nonetheless, it was still a pretty good dessert choice!
Yuzu Rabbit Cake
The Rabbit Yuzu Cake ($9.80) had a strong yuzu flavor that was both citrusy and refreshing to the taste buds. The cookie base added a delightful crunch to the cake, while providing an additional layer of flavor that complemented the citrus notes perfectly.
Ice Cream Parfaits
We tried their Strawberry & Vanilla Ice Cream Parfaits ($13.50 – $17.50) that looked straight out of Japan! The strawberries were notably sweet, and you can almost taste them with each spoonful. The inclusion of strawberry jelly within the parfaits introduced a unique texture, enhancing our overall experience.
Fruits Mochi
We also managed to sample their range of Fruits Mochi ($5.50 – $8.80), highlighting produce like strawberry, shine muscat, orange, and kiwi. If we were to pick a favourite, it would definitely be the strawberry fruit mochi. You really can’t go wrong with it.
