Singapore’s nightlife scene continues to evolve with the latest introduction of Bae’s Cocktail Club in Tanjong Pagar. This new spot is a bar that transforms into a club after 10 pm.
New Bar & Club in Singapore
With Tanjong Pagar known as Singapore’s unofficial Korean town, it only made sense for Bae’s Cocktail Club to open along the stretch of Korean restaurants. It’s located right beside Restaurant Fiz, with a small counter near its entrance, a common sight among clubs in Singapore.
Our first impression of Bae’s Cocktail Club? Very inviting, cosy and vibey. Unlike most clubs, there wasn’t a distinct dancefloor area. Instead, it had more classic lounge meets music room vibes with a DJ corner decorated with vinyl records at the back.
However, the crowd started to come in around 10 pm and it felt more like a club with rhythmic LED lights and guest DJs spinning hip-dance tunes.
Korea-Inspired Cocktails
Apart from the classic concoctions you’ll usually find at bars, Bae’s Cocktail Club has 12 signature cocktails crafted by Vijay Mudaliar, who’s not only the co-founder of Bae’s, but the highly renowned Native and Analogue Initiative.
Their signature cocktails are made with spirits from Korea such as Won Soju, a soju created by Jay Park, alongside Andong Soju by Cho Ok Hwa and Buja Gin – the world’s first Korean gin.
The Pepero Martini ($26) sees the popular Korean snack reimagined into a biscuity coffee martini, using vodka, Chuga Soju, cold brew and chestnut. There’s also a Mandarin Whisky Sour ($26) which uses Mandarin Cheong, Monkey Shoulder Vodka alongside iconic Korean ingredients like Perilla Leaves and Perilla Oil.
Other notable mentions include a Kimchi Margarita ($26) which offers smoky and spicy notes, a Ginseng Martini ($26) and a Barley Makgeolli Old Fashioned ($26) which has soy sauce infused into the drink!
We tried the Kimchi Margarita which combines Mezcal, Roasted Bell Peppers, Kimchi, Pepper and Lime which had a nice balance of umami, spice and savoury notes. If you like drinks with a little’ spice, this one is for you.
The highlight of the night for us was the Soju Basil Smash ($26), made using Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Gin, Won Soju, St Germain and Basil. This was easy to drink and had a nice basil fragrance that wasn’t overpowering.
We also tried the Makgeolli Pina Colada Slushy ($26) served in a cute pineapple glass. The tropical drink combines coconut oil with pineapple, Chuga Makgeolli and Bacardi Rum. It’s fun and would be a great drink to start the night!
Small Bites
Bae’s also offers a range of bar bites that’s heavily Korean influenced with items such as Bae’s Corndogs ($21), Wagyu Short Rib Ssam (200g) ($34), Spicy Pork Ramyeon ($22), and Chilli Crab Tteokbokki ($21) to name a few.
The Kimchi Bacon Fries ($24) was one of our favourites among the items we tried, featuring waffle fries to ensure that you get the topping of kimchi bacon, mayonnaise and bonito flakes with each bite.
Their Bae’s Fried Chicken ($24) also deserves a shoutout, with each piece juicy and fried to perfection. It was served with 3 sauces – Yangnyeom, Garlic Ganjang and Dill Cream. Our favourite combo was the Garlic Ganjang with Dill Cream, so so good.
The Uni Abalone Kimbap ($28 for 2pcs) looked like an unassuming gunkan maki but was a powerhouse filled with Hokkaido Uni and Jeju Abalone pieces. The kimbap itself was amazing texture-wise, and the uni and abalone used were fresh. However, we did find this slightly on the expensive side.

If you enjoy winding down with a couple of drinks and chilling with friends, we recommend visiting Bae’s Cocktail Club before 10 pm. But, if you’re a party animal and enjoy soaking in beats and dancing on the dancefloor with a drink in hand, do note that the place only gets heated from 10 pm.
