Well Ventilated And Clean Environment
The space boasts a whopping 650 seats, making sure there is plenty of space to enjoy your meal. It was also kept ventilated and cool with strategically placed fans, so we had a comfortable eating experience.
Anchorvale Village Food
At Anchorvale Village, you’ll be spoiled for choice! There is everything from roasted meats from Tai Hao Chi, fish soup from Soon Lee Fish Soup to beef noodles from Hainan Beef Noodle & Claypot.
For a vegetarian option, All About Vege offers a variety of meat-free Zi Char dishes. For something sweet, get Munchi Delights min jiang kueh or fried banana fritters from Thai Khanom Banana.
There are also halal options! Try 97 Nasi Lemak, and Soldier Chicken serving Halal Western food.
Hakka Lei Po Po
The Set A ($8.30) is a hearty combination of Hakka Lei Cha and 3 pcs Yong Tau Foo. The Lei Cha featured a well-balanced broth with a variety of fresh vegetables like long beans, sayur manis, and cabbage that retained a satisfying crunch even when mixed with the broth.
It comes with white rice by default, but brown rice or no rice options are available for an additional $0.50. The accompanying Yong Tau Foo came generously stuffed with meat fillings, complementing the earthy flavours of the Lei Cha nicely.
Eng Kee Chicken Wings
For a convenient and affordable breakfast choice, try their 2 Wings with Bee Hoon and 1 Egg ($5.30). The bee hoon hit the spot! not too greasy nor dry which was ideal for a satisfying morning meal. While the chicken wings could have been crispier, the flavorful marinade made up for it, making a satisfying side to the bee hoon.
Cuo Cuo You Yu
The Signature Bar Chor Mee (Dry,$6) had springy egg noodles that were tossed in a chilli-vinegar sauce that hit the spot with its balanced heat and tang! Their side of soup came with a generous amount of meat slices, meatballs and liver, making it a satisfying meal.
Halal Options
Soldier Chicken
The halal 3 Pcs Soldier Chicken Combo (S$7.90) delivered a nostalgic of old school Western comfort food! The fried chicken was crispy, and well-seasoned and stayed juicy even when cool. While the side of fries could have been crispier, we still enjoyed the well-seasoned chicken that was pretty addictive!
Kawan Bowl
The Ayam Berempah Egg Rice ($6.90) packed a flavorful punch with its well-marinated chicken thigh! The strong, pleasant turmeric taste was prominent, but we felt the scrambled eggs could be more moist for a better mouthfeel.
Habib’s Rojak
Habib’s Rojak offers over 20 different ingredients to choose from, each ingredient ranging from ($1-$3) including Boiled Potatoes ($1.60), Vadai ($1.20), and Crispy Prawns ($2.70). Unlike some versions of rojak, these ingredients are crispy and light, without a trace of greasy aftertaste. They paired well with the flavorful dipping sauce that had a pleasant, manageable amount of spice, making it quite addictive.
