Exciting news – Korean bakery Standard Bun will be having a pop-up in Singapore! The pop-up will be happening at two locations: Suntec City (from 4 June 2025) and Bugis Junction (from 10 June 2025).
Standard Bun Pop-Up Menu
For the uninitiated, Standard Bun is a bakery from Seoul specialising in unique fist-sized buns. Their claim to fame is their Mocha Buns, which have drawn the likes of K-Pop idols including i-dle and G-Dragon.
The pop-up brings the Mocha Bun in 25 variations, including Salt Mocha ($4.20) and Cookie Bun ($5.40).
The signature is their plain Mocha Bun ($3.90) with Maple Aged Butter ($2.90/50g).
We tried this back at their cafe in Seoul and are happy to report it tastes similar here. It’s kind of like Rotiboy but with a milder coffee flavour!
The crusty mocha bun and creamy butter make for a great combination, though the maple taste is not present as expected.
We also sampled the Apple Cinnamon Bun ($5.60) and Raspberry Bun, both stuffed with thick slices of butter.
Its very indulgent and the butter can get cloying after a while, but we enjoyed the distinct flavours of the toppings, especially the tart raspberry!

The other butter-stuffed buns feature Caramel ($5.60) and Red Bean Butter ($5.80) toppings.
Other options include a Melon Cream Bun ($5.80) with a familiar cross-cut topping and Castella Bun ($5.80) coated in castella crumbs. These feature cream-based fillings instead.
They also have savoury options like Garlic Cream ($5.50) and Jambon Bun ($7.50), which exceeded our expectations!
The combination of the savoury jam and sweet apples plus slightly crunchy bread made for a good bite.
Just a note that they are generous with the butter and cream portions so it can get a bit overbearing!
Drinks
They have two special drinks: Ice Creamed Latte ($8.50) and Almond Mocha Java ($7.50).
Between the two, we prefer the Ice Creamed Latte. The ice cream is super milky but not too sweet, contrasting the bitter roasted coffee.
The Mocha we had was too acidic and didn’t meld well with the cream.
Soft Serve Ice Cream
The surprising stars for today were the soft serve ice creams! You have to try the Black Sesame ($7.50). It was packed with a roasted sesame fragrance but not too sweet, accented by the richness of the milk.
We also got the Hojicha ($7.50), which was a solid ice cream flavour!
