Ever had coffee that tasted that wine? It’s a speciality at INC Coffee, a cafe in Gasan that offers beans aged in rum barrels!
Modern Industrial Interior
INC Coffee is located in the Gasan area about 30 minutes out from Yeongdeung-po. It’s an industrial-working district, which makes it apt that their cafe is industrial-themed!
There are other outlets in Korea including Hanam and Starfield Suwon.
This outlet spans an impressive three storeys so there’s plenty of seating available. The main feature is a circular water fixture in the centre; letting in natural sunlight.
Their in-house roastery and bakery is on the first floor, sporting an orange and brown colour scheme.
Interestingly, their second and third floors follow different aesthetics. The second floor feels almost like a garden, with natural skylights and seats that resemble sunchairs.
On the other hand, the third floor looks like a science lab. There’s a feature wall with different coffee beans and blends and a bar counter. They even have an outdoor terrace!
INC Coffee Gasan Menu
The coffee selection is varied, ranging from drip coffee to espresso.
Their signature range features their speciality beans aged in rum barrels! It’s available in a Rum Barrel Latte (6,900 won) and Rum Barrel Cream Coffee (6,800 won). Their INC Affogato (8,000 won) uses another signature blend with vanilla ice cream.
Their five drip coffee selection ranges from their Guatemala Rum Barrel (from 8,000 won) to Brazil Fazeda Um Catucai Natural (from 7,500 won) depending on your preference.
Regular espresso drinks like Americano (4,600 won) and Vanilla Bean Latte (5,800 won) are all available.
If you don’t fancy coffee, their Earl Grey Cream Latte (6,5000 won) and Piccolo Almond Milk Tea (7,000 won) are non-coffee signatures! There are also plenty of teas, ades and ice blended drinks.
Rum Barrel Cream Coffee
The signature Rum Barrel Cream Coffee (6,800 won) impressed us! The ageing process gave it a fruity and almost wine-like flavour.
It was served with a layer of cream which complemented the bitterness without overpowering it.
This was one of the more unique coffees we’ve had!
INC Spanner
The INC Spanner (7,500 won) featured orange syrup and fresh cream. The orange added a pleasant freshness and sweetness that wasn’t artificial.
We liked how you could still taste the roasted notes of the coffee, making it a fruity and refreshing cup.
If you’re a fan of fruity coffees you would probably appreciate this more!
Bakes
There was a large variety of bakes ranging from sweet to salty!
We tried three items: Sausage Salt Bread, Mochi Sweet Corn Bread and the Black Sesame Cream Bun.
The Black Sesame Cream Bun was our favourite! It had a generous, almost exploding amount of cream that wasn’t cloying.
We wish the black sesame flavour could be more prominent as the crumble on the outside didn’t have a strong nuttiness.
The Sausage Salt Bread was nice but unmemorable. We liked the Mochi Sweet Corn Bread though! It was chewy with a slightly sweet cream cheese filling and crunchiness from the corn bits.
