Hidden at the MINT Museum Of Toys in Bugis is Rodeo Table, a new Tex-Mex restaurant with Japanese influence.
Here, you can look forward to well-done dishes with bold flavours.
Interior
The store features a Tex-Mex themed interior, with large shelf displays of alcohol bottles, alongside a bull’s head.
The bold, colourful, vintage-style posters add character and nostalgia to the space, while warm lighting, hanging lights and mirrors on the wall create a lively atmosphere.
Rodeo Table Menu
The menu is extensive, with classic Tex-Mex dishes, such as the Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla ($13.80) and Classic Nachos (from $13.80).
There are more options for sides and appetisers, like Tacos (from $4.80 each) and Baby Buffalo Chicken Wings ($12.80), as compared to main dishes like Burgers (from $20.80) and Steaks (from $23.80).
There are many different taco flavours to choose from, such as Carnitas ($5.80 each), Beef ($7.80 each), Spicy Prawn Tempura ($6.80 each), and more.
There are several dishes with Japanese influence, such as the Teriyaki Burger ($24.80) and Okinawa Taco Rice ($18).
The drinks menu is impressive, with Mojitos (from $12), Cocktails (from $12), Tequila (from $8), and even Wine (from $12)! For non-alcoholic options, they have Mocktails (from $8), Juices (from $4), and the usual soft drinks like Coke ($4).
Mains
For mains, we had the Chicken Fajitas ($26.80), which is flambed right at your table.
The smoky aromas and tableside presentation make it a fun and engaging experience!
The dish comes with house-made tortillas, salsa, sour cream and green salsa for you to assemble together with the meat.
The vegetables were a bit bitter but the chicken thigh was juicy and brought the whole dish together.
For tacos, we had the Yakitori Tsukune Chef’s Tacos ($6.80 each) and Chicken Tinga Chef’s Tacos ($4.80 each).
Out of the two, we preferred the latter.
It had a more impactful flavor from the chicken tinga and paprika.
This spiced seasoning was more authentic compared to the yakitori one which was very evidently Japanese, with red ginger and yakitori sauce.
Sides
The Baby Buffalo Chicken Wings (from $12.80 for 10pc) come in four different flavours – BBQ, Spice Dried, Hot, and Extra Hot.
The wings are honestly on the thinner side so be sure to get more!
We tried the Spice Dried and Extra Hot. They were really flavourful but the spice level for the Extra Hot is definitely not for the weak!
We recommend getting the BBQ and Spice Dried if your spice tolerance is on the lower side.
The blue cheese flavour in the dip wasn’t strong, but it went well with both flavours of the wings we had.
We also had the Tokyo Jambalaya ($23) and Elote ($13.80).
The Elote is different from the usual, using both sweet corn and baby corn instead of the usual corn on the cob, but was still tasty with the bacon and parmesan cheese.
The Tokyo Jambalaya was very Japanese-coded, with curry flavoured rice.
It kind of reminded us of Yakisoba but a rice version. Nevertheless, it was a tasty dish that we kept going back for!
Drinks
A Mexican meal isn’t complete without a margarita! We had the Lime and Strawberry Frozen Margaritas ($18 each).
Both were refreshing and complemented the meal well, but we preferred the strawberry one because it was sweeter.

Tex-Mex Food In Bugis
