Duck might not be the most popular protein, but it’s the star of the show at Ducking Good, a new restaurant in Geylang! It’s from the team behind Boeuf Steakhouse and focuses only on duck, presenting the duck in multiple cooking methods.
Ducking Good Menu
The menu is slim yet diverse with 10 types of duck dishes! Options range from braised options like their Signature Braised Duck ($20 Quarter, $39 Half, $69 Whole) to fried dishes such as the Crispy Spiced Duck Leg Confit ($13.90). There’s something for everyone!
Additionally, other dishes including Spring Onion Tofu Claypot ($9.90) and Chilled Cucumber ($3.90) are also available to complement your duck dishes.
Double Ducking Platter (Herbal Roast & Braised)
The Double Ducking Platter ($39) is perfect for those who want to try a bit of everything. It came with a serving of Herbal Roast Duck and Braised Duck with tofu.
While both iterations were equally good, we particularly enjoyed the braised duck. The meat was tender with a richness from the gravy, and the tofu was equally tasty!
Crispy Spiced Confit Duck Leg
Something unique on their menu is the Crispy Spiced Confit Duck Leg ($13.90). The extra-crispy skin provided a satisfying crunch, while the meat was practically melt-in-your-mouth tender with a deep flavour from the olive oil confit.
Salted Vegetable Duck Soup
The Salted Vegetable Duck Soup ($9.90) is a classic dish and Ducking Good’s rendition consists of sliced duck meat, salted veggies and tofu. The tangy flavour paired perfectly with the richness of the duck, reminiscent of homemade soup which made it comforting. It’s an appetising dish that pairs well with a bowl of rice.
Salted Duck Claypot Porridge
The Salted Duck Claypot Porridge ($9.90) is a heartier take on the soup, with thick Cantonese-style porridge. If you like dense dim-sum style porridge, this is definitely up your alley. It would be perfect on a rainy day with the sour and savoury flavour profile.
Spicy Kou Shui Duck
Fans of Mala or Hai Di Lao Spicy Seasoned King Oyster Mushroom will like this dish! The Spicy Kou Shui Duck ($9.90) was served chilled with an addictive, numbing Sichuan chilli dressing. This whet our appetites and would be good as an appetiser!
Spring Onion Tofu Claypot
In addition to the range of duck dishes, we tried their Spring Onion Tofu Claypot ($9.90), which was served piping hot. Although their forte is duck dishes, we must admit that their Spring Onion Tofu claypot is equally addictive!
Fragrant Duck Fat Garlic Rice & White Porridge
Don’t miss out on their White Porridge when you visit. It’s a classic thick Cantonese-style porridge with an enjoyable sweetness of rice and unique umami. Best enjoyed with the side of their braised duck gravy!
Also worth trying is the Duck Fat Garlic Rice ($1). It had a strong garlic fragrance and savouriness from the duck.
