Combat the heat with the new seasonal summer menu from Menya Kokoro! The selection features four hearty new dishes designed to invigorate and energize you for the sweltering summer-like heat here.
Menya Kokoro Summer Menu
The new Super Summer menu has three noodle dishes and one rice dish, featuring handmade noodles they make fresh in-store.
For a more unique dish, try the SUPER FRESH! Citrus Hiyashi Seafood Ramen ($15.80/$17.80). It has a dashi-based broth topped with lime and prawns, clams and raw scallop.
The broth was light but flavourful with a pleasant fragrance from the citrus! The noodles were thin but chewy, and we think this would make for a satisfying light lunch.
Those who prefer heavier flavours can try the SUPER MENTAI CHEESE! Mazesoba ($16.30/$18.30) with thick noodles coated in a creamy cheese sauce.
It’s topped generously with tempura prawn, minced meat and onsen egg with torched mentai sauce. This tasted rich but not overbearing, almost like cream pasta!
Garlic fans can try the SUPER GARLIC! Mazesoba ($15.80/$17.80) that has garlic four ways – crispy garlic chips, garlic bits, chopped and garlic paste. It’s savoury with a strong garlic flavour that isn’t too pungent, paired with the meaty sauces.
There’s also the SUPER UNAGI! Unakatsu Donburi ($17.80/$19.80) with a whole piece of fried unagi! The meat was tender and had a great crunch, making for the perfect accompaniment with rice.
