The Coach Bar, located along Keong Saik Road, is a hidden cocktail lounge nestled at the back of the Coach Play Singapore Shophouse.
Interior
When you step inside you’re instantly wrapped in a cosy, stylish atmosphere that feels like a downtown New York lounge.
There’s red, moody lighting and vintage wood accents, and they even use cassette tapes for the music, spinning 70s soul and 90s hip-hop which adds to the overall nostalgic vibe.
The Coach Bar Menu
The menu at The Coach Bar offers a curated range of bites. For smaller plates, there are snacks like Fried Olives ($12), Pickles and Crudité ($9), Pastrami Poppers ($16), and Bar Chips ($3), which are perfect for sharing.
They also have a Raw Bar, serving Shrimp Cocktail ($22), The Black and White Tartare ($100), and Caviar ($15 – $100).
If you’re after something more filling, The Coach Steak Sandwich ($25) stands out, made with tender grilled USDA prime steak, or the Silver Service Hot Dog ($30), made with wagyu beef hot dog and dressed with house-made sauerkraut.
The drink menu is equally exciting, with cocktails like the Spicy Margarita Royale ($27), served with white chocolate and caviar, and the Tabby Disco Tea ($22), featuring the signature Coach “C” citrus ice cubes. Other Cocktail menu items include Grey Goose Espresso Martini ($25), Waldorf Highball ($20), Cosmopolitan ($24) and Manhattan ($28). They also have wine and beer available, though the options are quite limited.
There is only one dessert menu item, which is This Sundae ($15). Caviar can be added at an extra cost, which we thought was interesting!
Food Menu
Pastrami Poppers
One of our favourite bar bites were the Pastrami Poppers ($16), filled with arancini, gruyere, mozzarella, and topped off bagel seasoning.
Biting into it, you get a crispy outer crunch that gives way to a rich, creamy centre, oozing with melty cheese and smoky pastrami. It’s savoury, garlicky, and hard to stop at just one.
Fried Olives
The Fried Olives ($12) are Sicilian olives stuffed with red pepper paired together with french onion dip.
The dip was a standout for us. It’s rich and savoury, and the olives were just the right amount of saltiness.
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
If you love cheese, the Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($23) comes with American cheddar, gruyere, and extra sharp cheddar all melted between perfectly toasted slices of bread.
It’s served with a warm bowl of tangy tomato soup on the side, and we loved dipping the sandwich in it!
Silver Service Hotdog
The Silver Service Hotdog ($30) was another one of our favourites.
It’s made out of wagyu beef hot dog, house-made sauerkraut, dijon, and sweet pickle relish.
The relish adds a refreshing contrast to the richness of the wagyu, and the bun was also thoughtfully cut up for easy eating.
Drink Menu
Proper Martini Service
We were especially excited for the Proper Martini Service ($12), a fun and interactive experience where a tray of garnishes is brought to your table, letting you customise your own martini just the way you like it.
At just $12 a glass, it’s surprisingly affordable, and the personalised touch makes it feel extra special.
Waldorf Highball & Cosmopolitan
We also tried the Waldorf Highball ($20) and the Cosmopolitan ($24), both of which can be served with or without alcohol, perfect for those who prefer a lighter option.
The Cosmopolitan was bright, zesty, and refreshing, an easy sip that’s great for starting the night.
The Waldorf Highball leaned heavily into its celery notes, earthy and vegetal, and it might be more of an acquired taste depending on your palate.
