Samgyetang – a.k.a Korean ginseng chicken soup – is a known health food that boosts your energy. If you’re looking for a restaurant to indulge in this hearty dish, visit Bomul Samgyetang in CHIJMES!
The new samgyetang-specialty restaurant boasts the largest lineup of samgyetang flavours in Singapore (so far).

Simple Interior

Bomul Samgyetang is the brainchild of a Korean entrepreneur and his long-time friend of 18 years, who also happens to be a professional bodybuilder!
The duo are passionate about nourishing, hearty eating, hence focusing on bringing samgyetang to Singapore.
The restaurant in CHIJMES follows a bright and clean Korean-inspired design, with hanok elements in the decor.

They offer 10 flavours of samgyetang – yes, 10! – each with a different function.

They have the Healthy samgyetang ($29) which is the OG version with premium aged ginseng.
Some interesting flavours are the Detox ($32) with mung beans and Restorative ($38) that utilises a special black tiger balm mushroom (said to be good for your respiratory system).
They also offer Samgyejuk, which are porridges cooked in the same nourishing broth.
Choose from flavours like Pumpkin ($25) and Maesaengi Abalone ($29) with special maesaengi seaweed!
Their side menu is surprisingly extensive. The selection includes Spicy Chicken Feet ($18), Chicken Gizzard ($18) and Seafood Pancake ($25).
They also offer a selection of alcohols, including ginseng liquor and makgeolli to complete the meal!
Samgyetang Flavours We Tried

We tried three soups: Spicy Cure ($32), Energy ($36) and Rejuvenation ($36).
All three soups are thick and rich without an overly strong herbaceous taste.
It’s different from the usual ones we’ve had in Korea that are usually soupier! If you like a thicker base, these will be up your alley.

Of the three, we enjoyed the Rejuvenation the most. It had black garlic which added a nice savoury, deep umami to the soup.

Something unexpected was the Spicy Cure. It has an unassuming look – no hint of redness at all – but packed quite a punch at the back of the throat!
The Energy flavour fell flat for us. Despite being perilla-based, we couldn’t taste any notable taste of perilla.
We liked how tender the chicken was! It’s best enjoyed with their house-made banchan, especially their kimchi, which is infused with ginseng as well.
While we appreciated the spice, the soup didn’t have a striking flavour or body compared to the rest.
Sides

The Minari Pancake ($22) is a must order! It was crispy but not oily and packed with minari (Korean water bits, giving a nice unique fragrance.

Their Duck and Chicken Ddukgalbi ($22) also surprised us. It was juicy and tender without any gameiness despite the inclusion of duck.
The glaze was sweet and pepper-forward, making it moreish!
1-for-1 Promotion
From 27 November to 6 December 2025, enjoy 1-for-1 samgyetang! Enjoy the promotion on all their samgyetang flavours, except for the Anti-Ageing Samgyetang.
Here are some T&Cs to take note:
- No limit to the number of 1-for-1 redemption per table
- Higher price will be charged per redemption
- Capped at 1 Samgyetang per person, while stocks last
- For dine-in only, strictly no takeaway
Samgyetang In Singapore
The price points are steep at Bomul Samgyetang, with the cheapest bowl going at $30. We enjoyed the thick consistency of their broths, albeit not the most authentic, but definitely tuned to the Singaporean palette.
