Everyone loves a good 1-for-1 deal, and even more so if it’s MICHELIN rated! INDOCAFÉ is a six-time MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Peranakan restaurant and for the month of December, they’ll be introducing a new 1-for-1 Signature Tasting Menu at only $68++.
Signature Tasting Menu

The Signature Tasting Menu was specially curated as an introduction to Peranakan food, and consists of 5 courses.
It includes starters, sides, mains, and desserts, with the option to choose your main and dessert.
Starters

The meal begins with 2 starters; the Trio Platter and the Soup Of The Day.
The Trio Platter features Ngoh Hiang, Kueh Pie Tee, and Nyonya Otah Otah. They were all nicely portioned into bite-sized pieces, and were a nice start to the meal.
We particularly enjoyed the otah otah, though we wish it had a stronger flavour.
On our visit, the soup being served was the Hee Peow Tng Soup. It features fish maw and prawn balls cooked in chicken broth.
It was a simple and comforting soup but did not particularly stand out to us flavour wise.
Mains And Sides

For sides, Sayur Lodeh is served. The dish stews mixed vegetables in a spicy coconut broth with tempeh and tofu.
This was our favourite dish of the meal because it was flavourful and had a nice mix of textures.
For mains, choose between the Babi Pongteh and Wagyu Beef Rendang.
Rice is free flow so best believe we had our fair share of refills!
The Wagyu Beef Rendang is cooked for 6 hours, which makes it nice and tender. We thoroughly enjoyed the meat and sauce with rice!
Don’t be fooled by the simple appearance of the Babi Pongteh. It’s packed with flavour and pairs perfectly with the Sayur Lodeh.

There is also the option to add on the Kari Kepala Ikan (fish head curry) at an additional cost of $48.
The portion is pretty big so we’d recommend getting it only if you have at least 6 pax present.
The curry was rich and savoury, and the fish soaked up all the flavour! The fish also had a nice and soft texture, which elevated the dish further.
Dessert

For dessert, there’s the option of Kueh Salat or Bubur Cha Cha.
The Bubur Cha Cha was both sweet and savoury, and had a strong coconut flavour, which we loved.
We do wish it came with tapioca jellies!
The Kueh Salat didn’t stand out as much as the Bubur Cha Cha. Though we enjoyed the texture, we think it would be better with a stronger coconut and pandan flavour.
