RE&S Group is rolling out their Chinese New Year offerings! Spanning across their restaurants – Ichiban Boshi, Ichiban Sushi, Kuriya Japanese Mart and more – RE&S has a lineup of Japanese-inspired Chinese New Year set menus and yusheng for your choosing. Their orders open 20 December 2022 to 5 February 2023.
RE&S Chinese New Year Menu 2023
The menu selection starts with their best-selling Sashimi Yusheng (from $36.80) which comes with Norwegian Salmon and the signature yuzu dressing.
Those who don’t consume salmon can opt for the online-exclusive 6 Treasures Fruits Yu Sheng (from $58.80) which features pomelo, pear, guava, mango, pineapple and jackfruit.
The RE&S menu also has new meat additions! The Yuzu Prosperity Duck ($108) comes with a Japanese fusion filling with Japanese pork sausage, dried shrimps, dried scallops, gingko nuts, lotus seeds, and glutinous rice.
The Abalone Stuffed Roast Chicken ($88) features mini abalone to represent gold ingots with a savoury glutinous rice filling and Arima Sansho Pork Knuckle ($68) with a slightly numbing gravy.
The returning favourite is the Japanese Treasure Pot ($218 for 4 to 5pax) which has a generous lineup of sashimi-grade scallops, snow crab legs, prawns and more! We found the gravy to be fragrant and infused with the sweetness of the seafood. You can even get the pot in Petite version perfect for single servings.
For a thoughtful gift, try their first-ever Japanese-flavoured Bak Kwa ($46.80 for 500g)! Available in Yuzu and Arima Sansho flavours, the Bak kwa is barbecued over bincho-tan charcoal with Brazilian premium pork shoulder. It’s also packed in an ornate box making it perfect for gifts!
Kuriya Japanese Mart
Kuriya Japanese Mart’s eatery arm Kuriya Dining is also offering a selection of Chinese New Year dishes. They have two premium yusheng offerings: Kuriya Signature Yu Sheng ($228) and Prosperous Yu Sheng ($218), each with a medley of fresh sashimi like fatty tuna, ammberjack, scallop, lobster, snow crab and more!
Shimbashi Soba
The soba specialty restaurant Shimbashi Soba will also be bringing back its soba Yu Sheng (from $56.80) like the Fuji Soba Yu Sheng with freshly cooked soba, abalone, salmon roe and more. They also have new traditional yusheng options like the Ume Salmon Yu Sheng or the Tsubaki Salmon Yu Sheng.
Sushi-GO
Sushi-GO is also offering a lineup of mini yusheng in the form of the Salmon Petite Yu Sheng and Abalone Petite Yu Sheng at only $9.80 each! Indulge in a single serving of classic yusheng with shredded veggies, golden crackers and a yuzu dressing.
Chinese New Year Platter And Bundles
Those planning CNY parties can consider the variety of takeaway platters and CNY bundle menus available from Ichiban Boshi, Ichiban Sushi and Kuriya Japanese Mart from $25.80! There are also a variety of bundles available for ordering both online and in-store.
