Ganko Sushi

Renowned in Osaka, Ganko Sushi has launched its first Southeast Asian outlet in Dhoby Ghaut. They’ve just introduced a new Chef’s Value Omakase Menu ($98++), available all day where you can savour a 10-piece sushi platter that includes Uni, Scallops and more!

Kagami

Kagami is an intimate Shabu Shabu Omakase nestled in Orchard Plaza, seating a total of 14 pax. There’s only one menu here: the 16-course Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu Omakase ($80). It’s an equal split between both broths, each featuring beef, pork, and seafood.
The Wagyu courses were definitely the stars, with cuts like A5 Hida beef and A5 Wagyu that were creamy and melt-in-your-mouth tender. This was an enjoyable, new and interesting take on omakase.

Fat Cow

Shiki Omakase is the newest offering at Fat Cow! It’s a 13-course omakase of the Four Seasons using the freshest seasonal ingredients from Japan. Priced at $88/pax for both lunch and dinner, it’s a great deal considering all the premium dishes you’re getting.
Our spring meal consisted of a chawanmushi for an appetiser, followed by 10 sushi courses, a Wagyu Handroll, and ice cream for dessert.
Highlights of the sushi courses were the Otoro (fatty bluefin tuna), Hotate (scallop), and Wagyu Handroll, which features Kagoshima Akune Gold A5 and Bafun Uni.

$100 – $200: Mid-Range Omakase Experiences
YUTA

YUTA has just one menu option, their YUTA Omakase ($115), featuring an 11-course meal. Three staple dishes like the charcoal-grilled A5 Wagyu Sirloin remain constant, while the rest of the menu gets a refresh every two weeks.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience at YUTA and highlights from our meal included unique offerings like a charcoal-grilled tofu pouch filled with chicken tsukune! We suggest pairing the meal with their specially selected sake and umeshu, which are thoughtfully chosen to complement the different stages of the omakase.

An Omakase

AN Omakase offers an intimate setting with a luxurious feel. Their omakase menu features an array of seasonal appetizers, sashimi, and nigiri.
During our visit for their $288 course, their offerings had a mix of both cooked and raw dishes. Standouts included Fried Tilefish, Truffle Caviar Somen, and a Sashimi Platter! Prepared right before your eyes, you might even witness some ‘performances’ such as blow torching or the application of gold glitter to the dishes.

*Do note that the menu has been revamped and their omakase menu now ranges from $138 to $218. Refer to their website for more information.
Sushi Yujo

Sushi Yujo offers both lunch and dinner omakase menus. Their lunch options range from $68 to $198, while their dinner options range from $148 to $348. We had the opportunity to experience the $288 dinner omakase menu, and you can find our detailed review here.
Our meal featured several standout dishes, including a Carpaccio dish, which was a delicately prepared seabream carpaccio, and the chef’s signature creation – slices of abalone elegantly served on a bed of rich abalone liver sauce.
Morita UNIGORO

Morita UNIGORO is an omakase restaurant in Telok Ayer that specializes in Hokkaido uni and seasonal Japanese seafood. They have several omakase courses, ranging from $98 to $320.
The 6-course set ($320++) features dishes like Shimaaji Sashimi, New “Uniku” (A5 Wagyu with uni and egg yolk), and a Kaki Tempura with peach. The highlight is the Signature Uni Hotpot, with uni, Ise lobster, abalone, and A5 Wagyu ribeye in a rich seafood broth.

Sushi Muni

Sushi Muni is an exclusive 10-seater omakase at International Plaza, which was fully booked out even before it opened! They specialise in traditional Edomae sushi, and emphasise on high-quality ingredients.
There are three omakase menus ranging from $98 to $198, and we tried the most premium offering. All the dishes were meticulously crafted and memorable, but our favourites were the Wagyu Sukishabu and Muni Houseroll.
The food and experience are definitely one for the books! Check out our full review of Sushi Muni here.
$200 – $300: Premium Omakase Selections
Sushi Masa

Hidden on the 6th floor of Cuppage Plaza, Sushi Masa by Ki-setsu is an intimate 8-seater serving up Omakase courses for dinner at $230+ or $320+.
They do not serve lunch as that time is dedicated to the Chef preparing his ingredients, which arrive fresh in the morning.
The seasonal omakase, which we tried, is priced at $230+, and it consists of more than 16 seasonal courses, a pretty good value for money deal if you ask us. You get items like medium fatty bluefin tuna, slightly aburi-ed otoro, uni & more!
The monkfish liver dish which we tried was very memorable, and watching Chef Masa prepping the dishes up close made us feel like we were in Japan.
You can make reservations for Sushi Masa here.
Ki-sho

Ki-sho is a kappo-style omakase dining experience tucked away in Newton, and is the only place in Singapore to try the award-winning Tottori Wagyu. They offer 6-9 courses, ranging from $160 to $360.
The 7-course lunch set features seasonal sashimi and the Zen Garden Platter, with rotating delicacies like uni with seaweed. The highlight is undoubtedly the Tottori Wagyu smoked over hay, which was rich and tender with a good balance between lean and fatty meat.
We recommend getting sake with the meal, which is carefully selected to complement the dishes.
