Flowers are blooming in all parts of Singapore, almost as though Spring has arrived in summerlong Singapore. They can be found in places like Pasir Ris, East Coast or even right in your neighbourhood.
Trumpet Trees in Singapore
One of the most iconic flowers to bloom during March/April is the Trumpet tree, also known as Singapore’s version of the Sakura Blossom.
The flowers of the Trumpet Tree can either be bright pink or white.
Over at Yew Tee, a certain tree has made head turns (the author included). Hidden in the corner of the Yew Tee neighbourhood, a certain Trumpet tree has fully blossomed, attracting residents with its beautiful white flowers.
Nearby, the trees have also started blooming in beautiful shades of pink and white. However, the lack of leaves in this particular tree really reminded us of cherry blossoms overseas.
Here are some photos of the tree:
Unfortunately, the blooms only last for a few days, even shorter than the average cherry blossom.
While we may not be able to head overseas to view cherry blossoms this year, exploring your own neighbourhood may lead to hidden treasures. Is your neighbourhood home to any beautiful blooming trees? Let us know!
