Craft beers are something we usually associate with countries like Australia, but two men are changing that perception with Jing-A Brewing Co. The brand is pronounced Jing-Eh and is an award-winning independent Beijing-based brewery.
Beijing Craft Beers Now in Singapore
Known for its curious twists on classic styles and head-turning label designs, Jing-A is set to bring its laidback and quirky vibe to Singapore’s craft beer scene with two of its craft beers.
Both the beers feature cute designs with hand-drawn illustrations celebrating their roots.
Mandarin Wheat 阿白小麦啤酒
A Beijing-style Belgian Witbier, this particular beer is refreshing and has a lively aroma of mandarin orange peel. The brew has a nice subtle sweetness accompanied by hints of crisp citrus and toasty spice, with a zesty and dry finish. This was a super smooth and light concoction for us, which made it easy to finish the whole bottle in no time.
Recommended pairing it with spicy dishes, seafood, and even hotpot.
FYI: The bottled brew was awarded Silver in 2019’s Australian International Beer Awards, and Gold in 2021’s Asia Beer Challenge.
Worker’s Pale Ale 工人淡色艾尔啤酒
Paying homage to blue-collar workers, the Worker’s Pale Ale’s packaging comes in a deep shade of blue. With that in mind, the American-style Pale Ale is designed to be an invigorating pick-me-up.
Made with pale and specialty malt, the brew has notes of fresh grapefruit that pairs well with the hop bitterness. Recommended pairing it with burgers, dim sum, and bbq dishes.
The stellar brew has won several accolades, including Gold in 2017’s Brussels Beer Challenge as well as in the International Beer Cup, Bronze in 2019’s Australian International Beer Awards, and a “Double Gold” in 2021’s Asia Beer Challenge.
Where to Get Jing-A Beers in Singapore
The beers are now available on e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, and PandaMart, as well as in select bars and restaurants, including KPO, SOL at Neil Road, Fu Lin, and Coq & Balls.
