Modern, Char Chaan Teng Interior
TamJai SamGor Mixian featured a casual dining area that replicated the vibe of a Hong Kong eatery with a modern feel.
The interior boasted graphics and signages with spacious seating arrangements for a comfortable and relaxed dining experience.
TamJai SamGor Mixian Menu
The menu exclusively offered Mixian which was served in generous portions. You will have the option to select from various ingredients such as Pork Belly and Shrimp Wanton, a soup base, and your preferred level of spiciness.
Consider pairing your noodles with side dishes like Sliced Pork Belly with Mashed Garlic ($7.50) and Fragrant Vinegar Black Fungus ($3.70).
Soup Base
You can choose your preferred level of heat, ranging from Non-Spicy to Hell Fire. If you’re a fan of medium-spiced stir-fried mala pot, then we recommend opting for the ‘Spicy’ or ‘Hot’ spice levels!
We went with two popular soup bases, Ma La and Wu La, at a mild spice level.
The Ma La soup base was fragrant with an immediate numbing sensation, and the mild spicy level made it pleasantly drinkable!
Wu La is a peppery broth with a rich consistency and a subtle herbal flavour, though we felt that the pepper flavour could be more pronounced.
Tu-Fei Chicken Mid-Wings
The Tu-Fei Chicken Mid-Wings ($7.50) were served grilled! Sprinkled with sesame seeds, the wings had a noticeable sesame flavour, though a bit more seasoning could have enhanced their overall taste.
Chilled Poached Chicken Mid-Wings
For the Chilled Poached Chicken Mid-Wings ($6.35), you get to pick between Chongqing Hot sauce and Mala. We went for the Chongqing Hot Sauce, which was flavorful without being too salty.
The chicken was tender and absorbed the flavours of the sauce well!
Roasted French Beans with Minced Pork
The Roasted French Beans with Minced Pork ($6.35) were our favourite! The French beans had a soft inside with a firm, crunchy outside that really added an extra crunch.
The minced pork was creamy and packed with flavour. It complemented the French beans perfectly, making for a combo we really enjoyed!
Crunchy Cucumber
Served cold and in bite-sized pieces, we opted for the mala sauce with the Crunchy Cucumber ($3.70). The cucumbers lightly soaked up the sauce, making each crunchy bite really flavourful!
The spice level was not overly intense and did not linger long in the mouth.
Gachapon Sure Win Surprise
The Gachapon Sure Win Surprise will run until 31st December 2023, offering a chance to win prizes including vouchers, stickers, and tote bags!
