Pizzerias have been popping up in Singapore in droves and Pizzeria Vincenzo Capuano is another player in the game. This Napoli-inspired pizzeria has racked up multiple awards including number 12 in the 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains 2024!
The restaurant officially opens on 17 May 2025.
Untraditional Italian Interior
The restaurant’s decor wasn’t what we expected. With hanging plants, macrame, and hand drawn chalk signs, it reminded us of Bohemian chic straight out of 2010 Tumblr.
It’s not the most polished or stylish look, but it’s interestingly homey.
The large pizza oven sits in the corner of the kitchen, ready to dish out fresh made pizzas.
Chef Vincenzo Capuano is a third-generation pizza maker from Naples, bringing his award-winning recipes from Italy to Singapore!
He’s racked up over 40 accolades for his pizza, including title of World Champion of ‘Contemporary Pizza’ in 2022.
Pizzeria Vincenzo Capuano Menu
There are close to 20 pizza topping options here, ranging from their best selling Centro Calabria ($30) with spicy nduja sausage to Chef Vincenzo’s Don Vincenzo ($30) featuring a ricotta-stuffed crust.
Other notable items include a Don Edigio ($28) with homemade courgette cream and Melanzanella ($32) topped with aubergine and burrata.
Their pizzas use a special “Nuvola Super” flour that makes it airy and fluffy. They serve all their pizzas with a pair of golden scissors for you to cut through the dough just to prove this!
They also offer pastas like Pasta Patate ($28) with potato and guanciale and classic Carbonara ($28).
Sides and starter options include Frittatina Napoletana ($12) which are fried stuffed pasta shells and Brushcette Con Pomodorini ($16) with fresh datterino tomatoes.
They also have an extensive wine and alcohol list for your meal.
Starters
We tried the Insalata al Salmone ($26) and Burrata Classica ($26).
The Insalata al Salmone had a creamy, zesty sesame dressing that added a nice refreshing touch.
Their ingredient quality is high too, down to the rocket and tomatoes they used in the salad!
Same can be said for the Burrata. The cheese they used was extra milky and creamy, making it the perfect carrier for the pesto and olive oil.
Contemporary Neopolitan Pizzas
We first tried the Provola e Pepe ($28), the winning pizza of the 19th World Championship! This was topped with smoked provola, roasted cherry tomatoes and pepper.
We liked the juiciness and sweetness of the tomatoes that flavoured everything! Once again, the ingredient quality shined through here.
The dough was as soft and airy as advertised. The scissors cut through the crust like a hot knife through butter! It had a slight crisp and great chew, plus a pleasant fermented flavour.
However, the pizza that stole our attention was the Tetti Illuminati ($28).
This white base pizza was topped with mortadella, pistachio cream and basil.
The combination of the meaty mortadella and fragrant pistachio was light but addictive, making us go back for more.
Fresh Made Pastas
The Gnocchi ($28) took us by surprise. Gnocchi in Singapore is usually prepared chewy or with a bite.
But this variation was literally melt-in-your-mouth, which we were not used to. This version is made with 90% potato, which explains the soft texture. I think it’s just something we’re not used to!
The sauce however, was flavourful, creamy and addictive with a kick from spicy peppers.
We also tried the Guanciale di Manzo ($30) with a Wagyu beef cheek ragu and fusilli.
This was rich and incredibly flavourful, and what we feel is the standard for ragu! It would be better if the pasta had a better texture.
Dessert
For dessert, we tried the classic Tiramisu All’Amaretto ($17). It had a nice balance of coffee and sweet mascarpone cream, but felt too dry. More coffee in the biscuits would be perfect!
The Panna Cotta Marmellata di Fichi ($15) had an almost-jelly like texture, not like the usual silky finish.
We couldn’t taste much of the milk but we liked the sweet fig jam!
Pizza Restaurant In Singapore
With so many pizza places in Singapore, it’s hard to say if Pizzeria Vincenzo Capuano stands out from the rest. However, their ingredient quality is superb and their pizzas are deserving of the awards. We think its worth the visit if you are in the area.
