Ever wanted to try Raising Cane’s? Tomahawk King, a halal steakhouse in Changi, is now serving a new fried chicken set inspired by the famous American chicken chain!
Raising Cane’s-Inspired Chicken
For the uninitiated, Raising Cane’s is a popular Louisiana fast-food chain known for its chicken tenders.
It has gained a huge following on social media. It is made famous by its full cup of dipping sauce, which people dunk their chicken tenders in.
Tomahawk King is offering its iteration of this with the King’s Chicken Meal ($13 for 2 pcs, $19 for 3 pcs).
The set comes with chicken fingers, criss-cut fries, toasted bread and a whole fried mozzarella stick.
Unlike Raising Cane’s, Tomahawk King opts for chicken thigh meat instead of chicken breast. These pieces are marinated in buttermilk for 24 hours!
We liked how juicy and flavourful the actual chicken was, but found the coating a bit too oily and heavy.
The star of the show is the King’s Sauce – inspired by the famous Cane’s Sauce!
Every meal comes with a side of King’s Sauce and Ranch. You can opt for the 475ml cup ($5) for the full chicken tender dunking experience.
The sauce is packed with flavours and seasonings. It tasted creamy, savoury, herby with a hint of tomato.
We were impressed by how flavourful the sauce was but think it can get overbearing after a while. A little goes a long way!
New Halal Steak Menu
Aside from the King’s Chicken Set, there are 2 new menu additions!
The Signature Wagyu Tomahawk Steak ($148) features a whole 550g Grain-Fed MBS6/7 Bone-in Tomahawk.
It comes with two sides of choice, Brown Mushroom Sauce and Garlic Herb Butter. We opted for medium-rare doneness; it was fatty and juicy. This is a good sharing option!
They also have new additions to their halal yakiniku selection. Try the A5 Thick-Cut Hireshita Signature (Sirloin, $248, serves 2 pax), a set that includes both thick-cut and thin-cut Hireshita, Australian ribeye, tiger prawns and sides!
If you prefer ribeye, there’s the A5 Thick-Cut Rosu Signature (Ribeye, $268, serves 2 pax) that offers the rosu cut instead.
