MIYOSHI by Fat Cow Has A Refreshed Teppan-Kaiseki Experience With Aged Maguro, A4 Wagyu & More

Nestled in a colonial-style building in Sentosa, MIYOSHI by Fat Cow is a dining establishment offering 3 Japanese dining experiences – ramen, teppanyaki and omakase. They have recently refreshed their teppanyaki experience, offering a Teppan-Kaiseki 8-course dinner.

The meal starts with Hassun Moriawase, which features an assortment of five seasonal appetisers:

It’s continued by Kuro Awabi no Yakuzen Jitate, a warm soup featuring teppan-seared Korean Jeju black abalone in a dashi broth. We enjoyed the smoky flavours of the grill that paired well with the simple, yet sweet dashi broth.

Next was one of our favourite dishes of the night, the Hon Maguro no Sansho Ni, which sees an aged maguro tuna fillet seared on the teppan grill. The perfectly cooked protein is then topped with deep-fried leeks, served alongside grilled shishito peppers and a house-made teriyaki sauce. The ageing process probably made the tuna flavour more delicate, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The Lobster no Bafun Uni Hishio sees live Australian rock lobster cooked to perfection, served in sea urchin sauce with a pinch of prawn oil.

Another dish we really enjoyed was the Straw-Smoked Hokkaido Hotate, which was again, grilled perfectly. The way the scallops were smoked right in front of us made the overall Teppan-Kaiseki even more enjoyable! It’s also topped with a spoonful of Russian caviar.

The teppan-seared Satsuma A4 Wagyu Tenderloin is a dish that can’t go wrong, featuring top-notch quality beef. It was served with grilled asparagus, eggplant an assortment of sauces, garlic chips and sea salt. The fire show is a bonus 😉

Fried rice is a must when it comes to teppanyaki meals, and MIYOSHI does a heck of a job with their Garlic Fried Rice. A lovely combination of Japanese rice, stir-fried with butter, a heap of garlic, eggs and Wagyu beef cubes – it’s just a burst of savoury and umami flavours. It’s served together with some pickles and lobster miso soup, which makes for a hearty experience.

If you’re thinking of taking your Teppan-kaiseki experience up a notch, MIYOSHI offers a couple of premium add-ons, such as the Yuzu Saikyo Miso Foie Gras ($28++) and a personal favourite – the Kanto-Style A4 Wagyu Sukiyaki ($38++). The sukiyaki features thinly sliced A4 Wagyu Ribeye with a creamy egg yolk shoyu sukiyaki sauce, and loads of truffle shavings.

The experience ends with the Dezato, a dessert with elements of azuki red bean, matcha and seasonal Japanese fruits.

The 8-course dinner is priced at $228++, and diners can have a 5-glass wine pairing ($68++) or a 4-glass sake pairing ($68++). There’s also a 6-course Teppan-kaiseki lunch menu, which is priced at $98++ with similar dishes from the dinner menu, such as the Hassun Moriawase and garlic fried rice. The lunch menu features an Eight Blossom Australian Wagyu Striploin instead of the A4 Wagyu.
