Market Bistro: Affordable All-Day Dining Menu In The CBD With Irish Duck Confit At $28

Market Bistro, situated in the heart of Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC), brings affordable all-day dining to the area. The restaurant is managed by Eleven Seventeen, the group behind renowned steakhouses like Fat Belly and Meadesmoore, giving office workers in MBFC can now enjoy a greater variety of food options!

Modern Minimalistic Interior

Market Bistro- Modern Minimalistic Interior

The Bistro features a modern, minimalistic design with black and white tones and warm wood accents, creating an inviting atmosphere. The open kitchen concept allows us to catch a glimpse of the preparation of the meal, while table-side lamps enhanced the intimate dining experience in the evening.

Market Bistro Menu

Market Bistro offers an all-day menu starting at 11 am with starters like the XL Norwegian Salmon Croquette ($15), Glazed Cheesy Arabiki Sausages ($12), and Sticky Chipotle Fried Chicken ($15). For mains, try the 7-Hour Braised Beef Cheeks ($24), 200g Grass-Fed Striploin ($28), or the Lemon and Herb Roasted Chicken Leg ($19).

Dessert options include the Rich Fudgy Chocolate Brownie ($12) and Baked Alaska ($12). For drinks, choose from house pours like Pete’s Pure Sauvignon Blanc 2022 ($15/glass), draught beers such as Brewlander Lager ($16), or cocktails like the Mojito ($18).

Sides

Fried Brussel Sprouts

The Fried Brussel Sprouts ($14) was packed with umami, offering a sweet kick from the caramelised sauce and a nice char from the sauté. We loved the addition of brown rice puffs, which added a slight crunch and a toasty aftertaste!

Fried Baby Squid

The Fried Baby Squid ($16) had a thin, crispy batter with a strong seafood flavour. The spicy aioli added a nice kick without being too oily, which enhanced the overall taste!

Mains

Irish Duck Confit

The Irish Duck Confit ($28) was well-marinated, with tender meat, a thin layer of fat, and a crispy skin.

Served on a bed of sweet potato mash, it offered a creamy, well-balanced contrast to the savoury duck. It’s a nice twist from the usual mash!

Grass-Fed Ribeye

We had the Grass-Fed Ribeye ($34) cooked to a medium doneness. The beef was nicely prepared, paired with a red wine sauce that had a subtle sweet note. While the ribeye had a good amount of fat and a pleasant chew, we think it could have been more tender, which would have made it even more enjoyable

Rich Fudgy Chocolate Brownie

We loved that the Rich Fudgy Chocolate Brownie ( $12)  was served warm, complemented by the cold vanilla ice cream. The hazelnuts added a nice fragrance, though the dessert was a bit too sweet for our taste. It’s a great option to share after a meal!
